Para el venezolano futbolero, podría incluso dar pereza hablar del tema "Selección Nacional" luego del fracaso más grande del fútbol venezolano, al quedar eliminados del repechaje en la que fue la eliminatoria más fácil de toda la historia. Tocar este tema es bastante complicado, yo en lo particular, traté de alejarme mucho del tema fútbol a raíz de semejante decepción. Sin embargo, quienes amamos este deporte y más aún a nuestro país, fue inevitable pasar por alto el amistoso que tenía la selección venezolana de fútbol contra el seleccionado argentino, campeón de América y del mundo. Un partido súper complicado, desde cualquier escenario para la selección venezolana, pero que tenía el atractivo de que veríamos nuevas caras, cosa que es muy importante, considerando que es necesario refrescar el rostro de la selección venezolana.
Lo cierto es que Oswaldo Vizcarrondo, antiguo central de la selección venezolana, tomó las riendas de manera interina de la selección, esto luego de que la Federación destituyera a Fernando Batista, quien pasó a ser uno de los técnicos que protagonizó el fracaso más grande del fútbol venezolano, aunque evidentemente los jugadores también tienen muchísimo que ver con esto. La convocatoria de Vizcarrondo fue, si se quiere, polémica, pero ya se preveía que veríamos un intento de recambio. Solo cuatro jugadores, si la memoria no me falla, fueron titulares de los que venían jugando habitualmente en la eliminatoria. Me refiero a Ferraresi, Aramburú, Christian Cásseres y Telasco Segovia. Del resto, fueron caras nuevas, jugadores que queríamos ver desde hace un tiempo, pero que por algún motivo no recibían el llamado.
El escenario era complejo, considerando que enfrente estaría la selección argentina, quienes no se guardaron nada en cuanto a nombres; solamente faltó Messi, quizás Thiago Almada, pero del resto, la selección estaba totalmente íntegra y presta a jugar el partido como si se tratara de la final del mundo, como bien vienen haciéndolo partido a partido.

Por otra parte, Venezuela tuvo un par de jugadas muy claras de gol, las cuales no fueron capitalizadas, la primera fue de Alejandro Márquez, y la segunda, un remate al palo, si mal no recuerdo, de Teo Quintero, quien, por cierto, tuvo un partido muy bueno.
Creo que los puntos más bajos, en cuanto a jugadores, los tuvieron quienes venían del proceso eliminatorio, me refiero a Ferraresi, Aramburú, Christian Cáceres, quien no estuvo tan mal, pero sabemos que puede dar mucho más, y el mismo Telasco Segovia, quien está llamado a ser de los jugadores que más aporten en el futuro, tampoco tuvo un partido muy correcto, sin embargo, pudo ser casualidad, sabemos que es un jugador muy talentoso y que nos va a dar mucho más adelante.

Del resto, fue interesante ver de nuevo a Juanpi Añor, quien no estuvo en su mejor forma, fue interesante ver al mismo Alejandro Márquez, que tanto lo pedíamos en el pasado. GIeiker Mendoza, quien fue el mejor en cancha, bastante correcto, encarador, atrevido, pero sin abusar de la posesión del balón. También el lateral izquierdo, Milani, de quien se tiene mucha expectativa, aunque no se proyectó mucho, defensivamente estuvo bastante correcto. Y otro punto bajo también lo tuvo Kervin Andrade, de quien sabemos que también hay mucho potencial, pero en este partido no pudo mostrar absolutamente nada.
Fue un partido amistoso en el que no había mucho en juego, pero que sin duda sirvió para ver otro rostro de la selección venezolana de fútbol, que, si bien es cierto, nos decepcionó muchísimo en este último año, quienes amamos este deporte y a nuestro país, como ya lo mencioné, estaremos allí siempre presentes, apoyando anímicamente y siempre con buenas expectativas y esperanza de lo que puedan hacer estos chicos en el futuro. Venezuela en el fútbol es una selección muy pequeña, es una selección sin historia, es una selección que aún tiene que pasar por muchas etapas para ser un equipo medio de Sudamérica, y bueno, quienes estemos viviendo esta época, seremos sin duda los que sufriremos más las derrotas y las épocas complicadas de la selección. Algún día definitivamente llegará el momento en el que nos alegremos y tengamos algún éxito futbolístico en esta Confederación que es tan complicada.

No tuve la oportunidad de ver el partido, ví que la Vinotinto tuvo una oportunidad clara que se desaprovechó y luego nos anotaron. Really good analysis. I agree the result wasn’t surprising, but what mattered was seeing how the new generation handled themselves. Contreras was incredible, and Quintero really impressed too. There’s definitely hope for 2030 if these guys keep growing.
