Several years ago my oldest son who lives in another state than me was very sick, a friend came to visit him and saw how sick he was, she called her mother who is a nurse she said to get him to the hospital, his appendix burst, the doctor said he was near death if the friend would not have come by. I hope your patient does not let it get that bad before going to the hospital.

One of the main reasons for this hesitancy (from going to the surgery) is the high cost of surgery. They have to pay 4-5 times their monthly salary to do surgery. So, they want to take a chance first.
It's good to hear that your son survived the burst appendix. How did it go that far? Was he homeless at that time too? [I read posts about your son (sons) being homeless!].

No, my son was not homeless but he did not have the funds to see a Dr and he did not know what was wrong. If he would have been living near me, I would have been checking on him and I would have known something serious was wrong sooner. He just thought he was sick and would get over it. I am so thankful the girl came by when she did and her mother was a nurse and told her to get him to the hospital.
