Hola amigas de la comunidad de Womentribe, espero que se encuentren muy bien. La iniciativa de @nathyortiz me gustó y me inspiró para poder escribir este post, ya que existen en mi vida muchas personas, tanto cercanas como famosas, que han logrado llevarme por el camino del amor propio y a valorarme como ser humano. Sé que todo el proceso para empezar a querernos puede ser tedioso y a la vez lleno de dudas que, al final, solo escuchando nuestras emociones podemos llegar a darles la importancia que requiere. Me gustaría invitar a @irenenavarroart y @erigm. 💖

Hello friends of the Womentribe community, I hope you are all doing well. I liked @nathyortiz initiative and it inspired me to write this post, as there are many people in my life, both close to me and famous, who have managed to lead me down the path of self-love and to value myself as a human being. I know that the whole process of learning to love ourselves can be tedious and full of doubts, but in the end, only by listening to our emotions can we give them the importance they deserve. I would like to invite @irenenavarroart and @erigm. 💖

En el proceso para aprender a valorar quién soy, he tenido muchas recaídas e incluso he llegado a tener ese pensamiento de: "¿Será que soy alguien tan diferente dentro de todo este mundo que me rodea?". Pues, muchas veces nos dejamos llevar por lo que otros opinan o lo que otros supuestamente ven en nosotros, que no son más que proyecciones de lo que también está en ellos. El espejo es el primero al que acudimos cuando tenemos dudas e incluso puede ser difícil mirarnos y no reconocer a la persona que estamos viendo, llegando a sentir que nos hemos fallado tantas veces que ya no vale la pena apreciar lo que somos.

In the process of learning to value who I am, I have had many relapses and have even had thoughts such as, "Am I really so different from everyone else around me?" Often, we allow ourselves to be influenced by what others think or what they supposedly see in us, which are nothing more than projections of what is also within them. The mirror is the first place we turn to when we have doubts, and it can even be difficult to look at ourselves and not recognize the person we see, to the point of feeling that we have failed ourselves so many times that it is no longer worth appreciating who we are.

Yo he sido una persona de amor propio intermedio; nunca ha estado ni demasiado alto ni demasiado bajo, por lo que en muchas ocasiones me siento como una impostora o como alguien que no hace lo suficiente, aunque dé el cien por ciento de mí en cada cosa que haga, por mínima que sea. Pero dentro de todo este camino para aprender a valorarme, me ha ayudado a ver la historia de las personas que quiero y que me han dado el ejemplo de que siempre se puede seguir adelante, incluso cuando duele, es difícil o cuando me siento diferente del resto, empezando por mi mamá.

I have always had moderate self-esteem; it has never been too high or too low, so I often feel like an impostor or someone who doesn't do enough, even though I give 100% of myself to everything I do, no matter how small. But throughout this journey of learning to value myself, it has helped me to see the stories of the people I love who have set an example for me that you can always keep going, even when it hurts, when it's difficult, or when I feel different from everyone else, starting with my mom.

Todos dirán que su mamá es una persona especial, increíble y la mejor del mundo... Eso puede ser cierto, pero en mi caso mi mamá es quien siempre ha estado presente y la que me ha visto en todas mis versiones, en las buenas y en las malas. Ella tiene una actitud ante la vida de una persona muy noble, pero a la vez muy fuerte; ella nunca se ha detenido a pesar del miedo y siempre me ha demostrado que, sin importar quiénes somos, debemos respetarnos y buscar nuestra propia felicidad, aunque los demás no la entiendan o comprendan.

Everyone will say that their mom is a special, incredible person and the best in the world... That may be true, but in my case, my mom is the one who has always been there for me and who has seen me in all my versions, good and bad. She has a very noble yet strong attitude toward life; she has never let fear stop her and has always shown me that, no matter who we are, we must respect ourselves and seek our own happiness, even if others don't understand or comprehend it.

Mis hermanos también han sido fuente de fortaleza; mi hermano es la persona más sabia que he conocido y eso que no es tan viejo 😅. Él es una persona que puede estar planeando algo y no habla sobre ello, simplemente actúa y deja que sus acciones hablen después. Es el primero que se graduó de la universidad y el que más adversidades pasó, desde no tener dinero para sus cosas hasta incluso recorrer media ciudad solo para ir a la universidad a ver sus clases. Nunca se dio por vencido y, aunque las cosas se pusieran difíciles, él siempre se mantuvo firme en lo que quería, y eso es algo de admirar y que me llena de mucho orgullo, no por el título que tiene, sino por su fortaleza y valentía.

My siblings have also been a source of strength; my brother is the wisest person I have ever met, even though he is not that old. He's the kind of person who can be planning something and not talk about it; he just acts and lets his actions speak for themselves. He was the first to graduate from college and the one who went through the most adversity, from not having money for his things to even traveling halfway across town just to go to college to attend his classes. He never gave up, and even when things got tough, he always stood firm in what he wanted, and that's something to admire and something that fills me with pride, not because of his degree, but because of his strength and courage.

Mi hermana menor también es fuente de inspiración para mí; ella es más que mi hermana, es un ejemplo de todo lo que he querido ser y que ella con su ejemplo me ha demostrado que sí puedo ser capaz de lograrlo. Ella también ha tenido que vivir situaciones difíciles y, en los momentos más oscuros, ella se ha comportado como la hermana mayor, me ha aconsejado y me ha cuidado. De ella quiero tomar la fuerza con la que se enfrenta al mundo y con la que valora la persona que es, con todas sus cosas favoritas que tal vez para algunos sean raras, pero es lo que hace que ella sea única y especial. La admiro mucho y siempre deseo que vea en mí a alguien en quien puede apoyarse.

My younger sister is also a source of inspiration for me; she is more than my sister, she is an example of everything I have wanted to be, and through her example she has shown me that I can achieve it. She has also had to go through difficult situations, and in the darkest moments, she has behaved like an older sister, advising me and taking care of me. I want to take from her the strength with which she faces the world and values who she is, with all her favorite things that may seem strange to some, but that are what make her unique and special. I admire her greatly and always hope that she sees me as someone she can lean on.

Todas estas personas han formado parte importante de mi crecimiento; cada uno, desde su forma de ser y actuar, me ha demostrado que desde la vulnerabilidad también se puede crecer y ser alguien dentro del mundo, tal vez nunca llegando a cambiarlo del todo, pero sí dejando una huella que deje cosas positivas en él. Además, parte de la música siempre me ha ayudado a enfrentar los momentos más difíciles y diría que Taylor Swift y Selena Gomez son dos de mis cantantes favoritas, cada una siendo tan diferente, pero con una historia de lucha, resiliencia, perseverancia y de que los sueños sí son posibles de lograr si realmente crees en ellos y en ti misma.

All these people have played an important role in my growth; each one, through their way of being and acting, has shown me that vulnerability can also lead to growth and becoming someone in the world, perhaps never changing it completely, but leaving a mark that brings positive things to it. In addition, music has always helped me face the most difficult moments, and I would say that Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez are two of my favorite singers, each so different, but with a story of struggle, resilience, perseverance, and that dreams are possible to achieve if you really believe in them and in yourself.
