Great analysis! In fact, the entire salary cap system is as flawed as it sounds. The big teams are taking all the opportunities, and the smaller teams are being left out of the competition. They are paying millions of dollars to let go of anyone they don't want to play — it's a completely backwards rule! The NBA should rethink this rule.
