El día de ayer se enfrentaron por el grupo B de la Copa América, las selecciones de Brasil y Venezuela; ambos equipos antes de este encuentro estaban invictos y estaban empatados con seis puntos después de disputar dos encuentros, la gran diferencia entre las dos selecciones era el gol average en dónde Brasil tenía una clara ventaja de 7 goles a favor, en cambio, Venezuela presentaba la estadística de 3 goles a favor y ninguno en contra, pero esa no era la única diferencia, ya que la Canarinha es la gran favorita para coronarse cómo la campeona del torneo y por eso Venezuela solo debería jugar a resistir y después ver si tenía o no posibilidades de obtener un resultado positivo contra un equipo superior.

En este juego Venezuela uso un sistema compacto, muy defensivo, siempre esperando el rival y por cierto tiempo muy concentrada; el esquema que se utilizó fue el 4-4-2, dos líneas de 4 jugadoras en dónde destaco tres de las cuatro que formaron la línea en el medio campo; las jugadoras como Viso, Carrasco y O'neill; las dos primeras jugarían pegadas a las líneas derecha e izquierda, todo esto pensando en una salida rápida que pudiera crear peligro hacia su rival; de Sonia puedo decir que en este tercer juego hizo el trabajo que primeramente hizo Dayana Rodríguez y después Kika Romero; en esta oportunidad Sonia se convirtió en el eje, en la unión entre la línea de defensa y la de mediocampistas y las delanteras; pienso que este plan fue bien pensando para tratar de minimizar el impacto del juego brasileño y funcionó por bien tiempo, lamentablemente una desconcentración por parte de Viso dejó completamente sola la banda izquierda (del ataque brasileño) y eso permitió que la lateral izquierda, Tamires, asistiera a Beatriz que anotó el primer gol del encuentro a los 22 minutos del primer tiempo.

Viendo las decisiones del cuerpo técnico y el pobre desempeño del segundo tiempo de Venezuela, creo que no existió un claro entendimiento de lo que debería hacer el equipo en el segundo tiempo; personalmente pienso que el esquema 4-4-2 fue una decisión perfecta y que por más de 20 minutos pudo controlar a un poderoso equipo, pero la concentración es un problema grave para la Vinotinto igual como lo es la manera de atacar en dónde existe un desorden y por eso solo tienen tres goles a favor. Este torneo corto ha demostrado muchas falencias de la Vinotinto, primero el estado físico pareciera por momentos no ser óptimo y por eso es necesario el constante cambio del 11 inicial en cada jornada disputada, lo otro es la falta de tener a jugadoras que puedan dar pases precisos hacia las buenas delanteras que tiene el equipo, eso justamente hace que el desempeño goleador sea pobre y ahora se esté obligado a ganar en la última jornada para estar en la próxima fase.

Todos, tanto en la selección de Venezuela, periodistas y hasta algunos aficionados tenían la noción de que el juego contra Brasil sería sumamente difícil, que obtener una victoria sería hasta imposible y a pesar de tener ese pensamiento estaba con la expectativa de jugar mejor, pero siendo sincero Venezuela no ha jugado bien en todo el torneo y es que claramente se está a un nivel muy bajo del cual está la selección de Brasil que teniendo noción de las selecciones que enfrentó en preparación para la Copa América, me hizo ver que a pesar de salir derrotada o de obtener empates contra Francia, Suecia, Islandia y España; es claro que son el mejor equipo de Suramérica; juegan muy ordenadas, las laterales son muy ofensivas, los pases son preciosos, tienen calidad para dar claridad a las jugadas de ataque y lo mejor es su estado físico que le permite presionar y ahogar a su rival y hay otro aspecto; si las brasileñas lo desean, le dan el balón a su rival para después ellas contraatacar y en eso son muy buenas, de esa manera fue que consiguieron anotar los tres goles finales contra Venezuela que sello su pase a las semifinales y sin esperar ninguna sorpresa, pienso que obtendrán en totalidad los 12 puntos máximos a disputarse en la primera fase. De Venezuela lo único positivo de este juego es que las jugadoras y el cuerpo técnico saben de la importancia de la jornada final en dónde se enfrentan a Argentina, saben que deben ganar, que deben jugar mejor, que los resultados contra Uruguay y Perú deben significar en algo y que todavía existe una posibilidad directa de estar en el próximo Mundial Femenino; una oportunidad más contra una gran rival.
