La tercera edición de la UEFA Nations League se vio afectada por el mal juego de las selecciones europeas

UEFA, la que considero la segunda organización de fútbol más importante del mundo, sigue con su idea de monopolizar el fútbol que se practica en el viejo continente con la tercera edición de un torneo en dónde cada selección deberá enfrentarse en varias jornadas en el año para ser considerado campeón de la "Nations League"; recordemos que este torneo está dividido en 4 ligas que son: A, B, C y D; en dónde la Liga A está conformada por selecciones con mejor coeficiente que deberán esforzarse para mantener la categoría y así no descender a otras ligas, también hay que decir que de esta liga (la principal) es donde se tendrá la oportunidad de ser el campeón del torneo.

Desde el momento de su creación, pienso que el plan principal era (como dije antes) monopolizar el fútbol europeo, que las selecciones dentro de UEFA viajarán menos, se enfrentaran selecciones consideradas como las favoritas de siempre y otras que desean aumentar un nivel para competir mejor, porque para ser sincero cada uno de estas selecciones quieren crecer como equipo, potenciando virtudes y mejorar dónde fallan para ser invencibles tanto en la Eurocopa como en el Mundial y así mantener una completa supremacía como ha ocurrido en justamente desde el 2006 hasta el último mundial disputado en Rusia en el 2018; pero todos sabemos la realidad de este torneo es para nada más y nada menos que el de hacer dinero y es que la UEFA vio una gran oportunidad de ganar grandes cantidades de dinero a costa de jugadores y cuerpo técnico, explotando aún más a personas que no paran de disputar exigentes partidos y que cada vez más se ven agotados cuando se está en una etapa definitoria por la obtención de títulos en sus clubes; desde el primer momento pensaba que este torneo pudiera servir por ejemplo para una futura clasificación directa a la Eurocopa o al Mundial y aunque si ayuda al gran torneo creado por UEFA, pienso que no es una gran ayuda para alguna pequeña selección porque solo ofrece un verdadero premio a las grandes selecciones de este continente. El formato lo considero extenuante aunque no es para nada comparado con lo de este año, por ejemplo en las dos ediciones anteriores las seis jornadas de la primera fase se dividieron en tres meses, dos juegos por cada mes, estos juegos se disputaron entre los meses de septiembre y noviembre, entres esos meses se disputa UCL y UEL, a eso le sumo las jornadas en cada liga que debe jugar cada club, a esto le anexo las semifinales, tercer lugar y la gran final que se realizan el año siguiente en el mes de junio a final de la temporada de clubes; todo se definiría en un solo país como sede, siendo Portugal en la primera edición e Italia la segunda; dos ediciones las cuales estuvieron un hiato de un año a causa de la pandemia, pero justamente pienso que eso ha dado pie para que UEFA siga con este plan de sacar provecho de selecciones llenas de estrellas, crear más juegos y recupera el tiempo (dinero) perdido.

From the moment of its creation, I think that the main plan was (as I said before) to monopolize European soccer, that the teams within UEFA will travel less, that teams considered as the usual favorites and others that want to raise a level to compete better will face each other, because to be honest each of these teams want to grow as a team, enhancing virtues and improving where they fail to be invincible in both the Euro and the World Cup and thus maintain complete supremacy as has happened in just since 2006 until the last World Cup played in Russia in 2018; but we all know the reality of this tournament is for nothing more and nothing less than to make money and UEFA saw a great opportunity to earn large amounts of money at the expense of players and coaching staff, exploiting even more people who do not stop playing demanding games and that increasingly are exhausted when they are in a defining stage for the winning of titles in their clubs; From the first moment I thought that this tournament could serve for example for a future direct qualification to the European Championship or the World Cup and although it helps the great tournament created by UEFA, I think it is not a great help for any small team because it only offers a real prize to the great teams of this continent. The format I consider it exhausting although it is not at all compared to this year, for example in the two previous editions the six days of the first phase were divided into three months, two games for each month, these games were played between the months of September and November, between those months UCL and UEL are disputed, to that I add the days in each league that each club must play, to this I add the semifinals, third place and the final that take place the following year in June at the end of the club season; everything would be defined in a single country as host, being Portugal in the first edition and Italy the second; two editions which were a hiatus of a year because of the pandemic, but I just think that this has given rise to UEFA to continue with this plan to take advantage of star-studded selections, create more games and recover the time (money) lost.

A pesar de que las anteriores ediciones dieron buenos juegos y hasta se consideran un éxito, en esta primera fase de la tercera edición es notorio que la calidad de los encuentros han disminuido y es que como todos sabemos a finales de año se llevará a cabo el Mundial de Fútbol en Catar y eso hizo imposible de que los juegos de primera fase en la UNL se disputarán entre los meses de septiembre a noviembre, eso llevó a la UEFA a usar al mes de junio para adelantar cuatro de las seis jornadas que se disputan en cada liga que conforman el torneo, cuatro juegos en dos semanas intensas para selecciones llenas de grandes futbolistas cansados después de disputar un año lleno de partidos porque hasta finales del año pasado se estaba jugando la clasificación para el mundial, es por eso que los jugadores solo pensaban en sus vacaciones con familias y amigos en vez de seguir jugando en un torneo que parece que cada vez más pierde importancia. Jugadores como Kevin De Bruyne de la selección de Bélgica fue uno quien levanto la voz para denunciar la decisión de UEFA de seguir con un torneo tan exigente en un año agotador que terminarán con la máxima competición en el fútbol y es que tanto UEFA como FIFA únicamente creen en crear una gran cantidad de juegos sin pensar en el estado físico del jugador y la calidad del encuentro que debe ver la afición, de los muchos juegos que deben llevarse a cabo en esta primera fase, muy pocos han respondido realizando un gran práctica del fútbol; pienso que cada selección debe tener como principal rival su condición física y después pensar en su rival de turno, lo primero se convirtió un gran factor para el desempeño de cada selección en este torneo, tomo por ejemplo a España e Inglaterra, ambas selecciones no jugaron a un alto nivel en estos encuentro, recordemos que una fue finalista de la pasada Eurocopa y la otra fue semifinalista, a pesar del mal juego o de la selección española consiguió el liderato del grupo yendo de menor a más, dos empates, dos victorias, pero la calidad no fue la mejor, pocos goles, poco ritmo, pero si de mal juego hablamos, que podemos decir de los cuatro juegos que disputó Inglaterra que conforman con Italia, Alemania y Hungría el grupo C; Inglaterra tiene la mejor liga de fútbol en el mundo, pero eso no significa que la selección inglesa sea la mejor, en este corto torneo si hay un ejemplo de un equipo con cero motivación pienso que los ingleses son un claro ejemplo, en estos momentos están de último lugar en su grupo y será imposible alcanzar el primer puesto porque no alcanzara los mismos puntos de Hungría que sorpresivamente está en primer lugar; Inglaterra es un completo desastre, nada funciona y parece que los jugadores no querían disputar ningún encuentro y no pongo en entredicho su profesionalidad, hablo que tal vez el agotamiento no les haya dejado concentrarse lo suficiente para ser realmente competitivos.

Justamente cuando se disputaba el encuentro entre España y República Checa, un periodista español señalaba que el equipo de su país había disputado una gran cantidad de encuentros y que al llegar al mundial pudiera ver a un equipo más cansado del que estaba viendo en el último partido antes de las merecidas vacaciones, a esto un comentarista de ESPN, en plena transmisión le responde que ese es su trabajo y que deben responder cada vez que son llamados a trabajar como cualquier otra persona en el mundo, inmediatamente no estuve de acuerdo con esa sentencia porque nadie puede trabajar o no debe trabajar de forma excesiva, sea cual sea su trabajo porque está demostrado que el trabajar o hacer una actividad si descanso, podrá traer consecuencias en su estado físico, mental y claro, el gran problema al momento de realizar su trabajo y pienso que en estas dos semanas de fútbol europeo hemos visto estás característica y como aficionado solo puedo decir que es sumamente preocupante porque la exigencia que deberían tener estos equipos a meses de un mundial no fue la mejor y es preocupante porque estos jugadores tienen menos días libres y dentro de poco debe realizar pretemporada a comienzos del mes de julio con viajes, diferentes juegos que los preparan para un exigente comienzo de temporada porque desde agosto hasta la segunda semana de noviembre no se detendrán, juegos en sus ligas, Champions League y Europa League en dónde se rumora que toda primera fase se juegue antes del mundial y a esto anexo que deben completar las dos jornadas restantes de la Nations League; después de esto solo puedo pensar en un gran pregunta y es ¿A qué nivel llegarán las selecciones de Europa al Mundial? Creo que tal vez todo esté excesivo plan de UEFA en efectuar tantos juegos pueda costarle la perdida del dominio que ha tenido Europa desde hace ya varios años siendo campeones del mundo, es por eso que no es mejor cuidar a los jugadores, parar un poco, darle un mejor prestigio a un torneo que no es una mala idea, pero para ser sincero hacer este torneo anual no es lo mejor, por ejemplo el año que viene comienzan las eliminatorias a la Eurocopa y seguro que habrá más juegos de la UNL y seguirán otros inventos más como es el torneo de clubes que se piensa llevar a USA conformado por los cuatro mejores de la Champions League y otra vez, esto es algo excesivo, es explotación de un deporte hermoso como es el fútbol y pienso que es errado el obligar a jugadores a estar en una serie de partidos por beneficio de una organización y sé que de alguna forma las estrellas se benefician por su imagen y lo que representan, pero que valor tiene cuando comiencen a fallar por el desgaste y no puedan demostrar genialidades que estamos acostumbrados de ver. Las organizaciones de fútbol deben estar a favor del jugador, del deporte y en los últimos años vemos que eso no está ocurriendo, por ejemplo la creación de este torneo no es la mejor así como realizar un mundial a final de año tampoco y lo peor es que los protagonistas no tienen ni voz ni voto en este tipo de decisiones y es algo que se debería tener en cuenta sobre que es lo mejor para ellos y para el deporte; habrá que esperar a como es el desempeño de las importantes y favoritas selecciones de Europa en el mundial para ver si se empieza a respetar las vacaciones de los jugadores o se siguen creando torneos sin ningún sentido.

I think that maybe everything is too much UEFA's plan in making so many games could cost them the loss of the dominance that Europe has had for several years being world champions, that's why it is not better to take care of the players, stop a little, give a better prestige to a tournament that is not a bad idea, but to be honest to make this annual tournament is not the best, for example next year the qualifiers for the Euro Cup begin and for sure there will be more UNL games and there will be other inventions such as the club tournament that is thought to be taken to USA formed by the best four of the Champions League and again, This is something excessive, it is exploitation of a beautiful sport like soccer and I think it is wrong to force players to be in a series of games for the benefit of an organization and I know that somehow the stars benefit for their image and what they represent, but what value is it worth when they begin to fail due to wear and tear and can not demonstrate genius that we are used to seeing. Soccer organizations should be in favor of the player, of the sport and in recent years we see that this is not happening, for example the creation of this tournament is not the best as well as holding a World Cup at the end of the year and the worst thing is that the protagonists have no say in such decisions and it is something that should be taken into account on what is best for them and for the sport; we will have to wait for the performance of the important and favorite European teams in the World Cup to see if they start to respect the players' vacations or continue creating tournaments without any sense.
