Postcards from Thailand #68: Cocks and Hens

Despite my impressive total of over 18000 steps yesterday, I would suggest that I would be outstepped by the little chicken gang that have recently appeared in the garden in the same mysterious way that Mr Benn's shopkeeper appeared.

The gang spends 12 hours a day in constant motion, walking laps around the garden pecking away at goodness knows what on the ground.
I think that there are three cocks and two hens...
...which reminds me, the papers and news media channels, here in Thailand, have been alight with the sad story of a 70-year-old guy who died after a threesome with two younger guys. There were drugs involved, they said...
If you read the news report, which is in English, you'll see how Thai media seems to have defined the word 'salacious'!
I just thought it all rather sad what we accept as 'news' these days on both printed and digital media. Personal gossip seems to be so newsworthy all of a sudden but of course, we the consumers are to blame.
Anyway, back to the chickens. One thing that's amazed me is that they have taken to roosting very high in a tree. The climbing frame is where they hang out for a chinwag, mid afternoon or possibly even use it to accustom themselves to the altitude!

Can you see any chickens tucked away in there?

They appear to be involved in competition to see who can get the highest. Its all rather odd as they seem to be better flyers than I gave them credit for!

Anyway, don't get too attached. I feel their days are numbered and a pot of boiling water is beckoning. The Mother in law was sharpening her cleaver, earlier today.
I do feel sorry for chickens in general, however. Muzzies and Jews don't eat pork. Hindus don't touch beef but every human being on this entire planet eats chicken.
Finally, a picture of an Egret in a tree. I don't know whether it's male or female but I'm sure no one will eat it.

Sorry, but I have no,idea why I can’t orientate the pictures correctly on the Actifit app
Was going to say
I have to adjust my phone also to see the chicken on top of the trees hehehe😁😁.
But I feel sorry for them that their days are numbered😐.

They're lovely creatures to look at, got some nice colour feathers
Tbh I just treated myself to an S24ultra and I'm trying to get the best out the camera. Learning new stuff takes so much time and the the thing that annoys me tis that I can't seem to set the default on the camera to 50 or 200MP....its probably me!
Then Actifit, after its zillions of HBD in funding, appears unable to post a photo in the orientation it's told to do....
There are times I wish I hadn't bothered lol
Hope you're having a great week!
