School Intramurals: Different Opportunities

avatar

Physical development of the learners includes allowing them to participate in sports. Sports activities should be varied so as to allow learners to choose which one fits them.

My dear co-Hivers, I would like to share to you the activities that we just had, the School Intramural. I will show you what we did in school last November 4, 2023. Instead of having a long weekend, we prefer to have this undertaking in compliance to the Division Memorandum to have simultaneous intramurals in all schools within the City of Bogo. Please come with me.

Sports Events

Volleyball

A ball floating in the air!

This game is really fun for the kids. In fact, they keep on borrowing from me the volleyball ball anytime they're free. Even the lower grade levels like grades Two and Three, they enjoy it every day with the higher grade levels. Seeing that they enjoy playing makes me feel that in one way or another, they'll be kept in school until they graduate.

Badminton

This game is also fun for the kids. Even my own child, enjoys it. This can develop the different motor skills of the child. The synchronization of the hands, eyes, feet, and body can contribute to physical and mental development.

This activity develops the muscles' strength, endurance and speed. Many can participate this considering that you do not need to buy any sports equipments like volleyball and badminton but only the uniform and also shoes for safety.

Cultural Games

This is locally known in the Philippines as Laro Ng Lahi or the cultural games.

The games like Luksong Tinik, and Patintero, are just few examples of the Laro Ng Lahi or the games that have become part of the Philippine Culture. The children enjoy these games as well.

Relaxing Models

Here, you can see that the teachers with their school head enjoy with something that can cool or refresh them during the break.

Our main casts here in this photo look like models for Miss Philippines... With their talent manager in the background... 🤣😆! Just kidding...

As a reward for their efforts and beautiful smiles, we ordered pizza and halo-halo through phone from Alberto's in the City of Bogo, Cebu, Philippines.

Realization

Here, I would like to thank my colleagues in school for their very active support to the School Intramurals @Malingin Elementary School. You can see in our faces the happiness that we feel towards the success of the day's undertakings. This won't have been a success without their active full support...❤️!

That's all for this blog my dear friends. Hoping to see you in my next blog and in your blogs, too. Take care everyone.

Hi mam, it's really nice letting the students engaged in different sports activities. It helps them build their confidence. And as for me, I really miss playing laro Ng lahi like patintero and tug of war. It makes feel young again. 😅☺️

Good thing covid is over and students can now interact with each other. It is important for children to be active physically rather than spending time over gadgets. It also help them build a sense of teamwork and camaraderie. Congratulations for a job well done everyone!☺︎♡

Very nice way to involve the student in such games, sir. In the past, this was the fun of the students after class. I really miss it now. It's enough to remember because I can't even jump a step. If before there were no snacks after the game, now well, the snacks are very tasty. Thank you for sharing food as a reward with the students who participated in those games. Thank you for sharing your blog sir @natsve54

Thank you @natsve54 for sharing this fun time of the students. Exploring in sports is a good way to discover everyone. There are situations where it seems that a student is not productive in something. But that's when you discover his natural talent in sports.

Yes @edver143, I agree. Some students are not so good in academics but they excell in sports, or vice versa. This is called equity. Giving students different levels of opportunities to come up with a good school performance.
