A walk, bike and window cleaning - My Actifit Report Card: November 11 2025
In the morning I went on foot to the pharmacy and visit my mom and bought bread in the supermarket on the way back so in total it's about 3.5km
Then my mountain bike really needed a cleaning, I know they look best when dirty but sand and dirt on the wrong places isn't good so it needed to go, from now on I will hose of the bike immediately after a ride so the mud doesn't dry.
After half an hour of cleaning all dirt was gone, it doesn't need to be showroom clean, just well maintained.
I dried the bike with a soft cloth and the chain with pressured air and then lubed the chain again.
Every month I relube, it's about 400km so it's a nice interval, I also check the wear with a simple chain checker tool, if it falls in between the links, the wear is >0.5% and it needs to be replaced, good thing is it doesn't fit, with almost 2000km on the chain it hopefully should last another 2000 at least but I'll find out since this is my first chain.
