Hola amigos de hive y en especial a esta comunidad, feliz fin de semana para todos ustedes. Hace unos días, específicamente el día sábado 16 del presente mes, la delegación de Águilas de Fuego en la categoría U-12, fue invitada por la delegación de Petare para jugar en su comunidad, ya les cuento cómo transcurrió este invitacional amistoso.

Hello friends of Hive, and especially to this community, happy weekend to all of you. A few days ago, specifically on Saturday the 16th of this month, the Águilas de Fuego U-12 team was invited by the Petare team to play in their community. I'll tell you how the friendly invitational went.

Me fui con mi hija Sofía a las 8 de la mañana a tomar la camioneta en la parada al lado de la iglesia de la Virgen Rosario ubicada en la plaza Mejía de Marigüitar, allí me encontré con la mayoría de los atletas y sus entrenadores, entre todos ocupamos una camioneta, dirigiéndonos a la comunidad de Petare. Al llegar, nos esperaba toda la delegación de Petare con todos los ánimos. Los entrenadores conversaron todo lo relacionado con el amistoso, mientras los atletas de ambos equipos se dedicaron a calentar en la cancha. La cancha, estaba muy bonita y en buenas condiciones, ojalá todas las canchas, estén así de cuidadas y lo que más me gustó, es que tiene vista a la playa. De vez en cuando se veían alcatraz en los cielos azules.

I left with my daughter Sofía at 8:00 a.m. to take the van to the bus stop next to the Virgen Rosario Church located in Plaza Mejía in Marigüitar. There, I met up with most of the athletes and their coaches. Together, we loaded into a van and headed to the community of Petare. Upon arrival, the entire Petare delegation was waiting for us, enthusiastically engaged. The coaches discussed everything related to the friendly, while the athletes from both teams warmed up on the field. The field was beautiful and in good condition. I wish all fields were as well maintained. What I liked most was that it overlooked the beach. Occasionally, we could see gannets in the blue skies.

En la conversación, los entrenadores acordaron que este partido se jugaría en 5 cuartos. El cuarto adicional se debió a que Petare tenía una cantidad de niños y niñas de la U-10, para no quitarle la emoción a los atletas de jugar, estaban muy animados por jugar. Ya teniendo todas las reglas claras, comenzó a las 9 de la mañana con el silbato por parte del árbitro de la delegación de Petare. Ambos equipos salieron con todas las ganas y los hierros. El equipo de las Águilas lucía su uniforme en su mayoría de pantalón rojo y camisa blanca. En cuanto a Petare, su vestimenta era de diferentes colores. La vez pasada le manifesté que están en la búsqueda de un nuevo uniforme; esperemos que se concrete lo más pronto posible.

In the conversation, the coaches agreed that this game would be played over five quarters. The extra quarter was due to Petare's presence in the U-10 squad, so as not to take away the excitement of the athletes' play; they were very excited to play. With all the rules in place, the game began at 9:00 a.m. with the whistle blown by the referee from the Petare delegation. Both teams came out with all their energy and talent. The Águilas team wore their uniform, mostly red pants and white shirts. As for Petare, their uniforms were of different colors. Last time, I told them that they are looking for a new uniform; we hope to finalize it as soon as possible.

Después de la foto grupal de ambos equipos, se inició el primer cuarto, estuvo muy entusiasmado, cada equipo saco sus mejores estrategias de defensivas y ofensivas más favorables, Petare tomó la delantera en este cuarto, dejando sin respiro a sus adversarios, los atletas de las Águilas estaban muy descontentas por los resultados, no pudieron vencer ese cuarto, el marcador terminó 7-6 a favor de Petare. En el segundo cuarto, Águilas renovó sus baterías y comenzó a recuperarse paso a paso, logrando cerrar en 19-20 a su favor.

After the group photo of both teams, the first quarter began. It was very exciting, each team brought out their best defensive and offensive strategies. Petare took the lead in this quarter, leaving their opponents breathless. The Águilas athletes were very unhappy with the results, they could not win that quarter, the score ended 7-6 in favor of Petare. In the second quarter, Águilas renewed their batteries and began to recover step by step, managing to close at 19-20 in their favor.

Gracias a este cambio, los ánimos se intensificaron más en los atletas de Águilas, iniciando el tercer cuarto más confiadas y seguras. Esto permitió que realizaran excelentes jugadas que cerraron este cuarto en 34-42. Al instante, se dio paso al cuarto donde jugarían las atletas de la U-10, en este cuarto número 4, esos pequeños, nos hicieron reír con todas sus ocurrencias. Comenzábamos a gritar, aplaudir y dar ánimos para que siguieran adelante. Había una niña de Petare la que tenía la camisa azul, era muy eléctrica, como decimos por aquí para referirnos a las personas con muchas energías, a pesar de su condición auditiva, jugaba muy enérgicamente, ya su entrenador le entendía perfectamente sus señas, se quejaba de que no le pasaban el balón, y lo buscaba donde estuviera para apoderarse de él. Este cuarto terminó con cierta ventaja, con el marcador en 38-49.

Thanks to this change, the Águilas athletes' spirits lifted, and they began the third quarter more confident and secure. This allowed them to make excellent plays that closed the quarter at 34-42. Immediately afterward, the U-10 athletes entered the fourth quarter. In quarter number 4, those little ones made us laugh with all their antics. We began to shout, clap, and encourage them to keep going. There was a girl from Petare who wore a blue shirt. She was very "electric," as we say around here to refer to people with a lot of energy. Despite her hearing impairment, she played very energetically, and her coach understood her signals perfectly. She complained about not being passed the ball and sought it out wherever it was to seize it. The quarter ended with a slight advantage, the score at 38-49.

En el quinto cuarto, Águilas se mantuvo en movimiento siempre, no cedió espacio dentro de la cancha, pelota que caía en el lado contrario, era recuperada por sus atletas, sin darle muchas opciones a Petare, aunque luchó dignamente hasta el final, terminando este último cuarto con el marcador en 49-64 a favor de Águilas de Fuego, la emoción y felicidad en sus atletas era evidente.
