La Selección Venezolana de Fútbol ya tiene el listado de los jugadores convocados para esta copa América 2021 y la verdad es que se encuentran ciertas novedades incluidas por el seleccionador José Peseiro de cara a la doble fecha de las eliminatorias de la CONMEBOL. La llegada nuevamente del atacante Josef Martínez es una de esas novedades o más bien buena noticia. Son 35 jugadores en total preseleccionados y entre estos se encuentran algunos rostros nuevos como Freddy Vargas (FC Dallas-USA) y Daniel Pérez (Club Brujas-BEL).

Debe saberse que si bien es cierto son 35 jugadores preseleccionados, los convocados de forma definitiva serán 23 y que estarán como reserva mientras que los 8 jugadores restantes que no irán serán sacados por el cuerpo técnico de la selección. Para los que no saben la razón por la cual Josef Martínez estaba apartado de las convocatorias anteriores era debido a problemas personales con el antiguo técnico de la selección recientemente volvió a ver acción en las canchas con su equipo el Atlante United después de 1 año, la primera razón como antes lo mencioné fue por problemas personales y la segundo fue una pequeña lesión de la cual ya se ha recuperado, esto sin duda les da un "empujón" ofensivo a nuestra selección.

Algo que resaltar en esta ocasión es que el técnico Peseiro se inclinó por la opción de convocar a jugadores militan y hacen vida en clubes en el exterior algo que no es muy común en nuestra selección, sólo Joel Graterol y José Contreras fueron convocados de sus clubes en la vecina nación Colombia. La liga que más jugadores aporta a esta convocatoria es la MLS de los Estados Unidos, son 7 los jugadores, Jhonder Cádiz (Nashville), Freddy Vargas (Fc Dallas), Junior Moreno (DC United), Josef Martínez y Ronald Hernández (Atlanta United), Cristian Casserés (Red Bull).

Something to highlight on this occasion is that the Peseiro coach chose the option of calling up players who play and live in clubs abroad, something that is not very common in our national team, only Joel Graterol and José Contreras were called up from their clubs in the neighboring nation Colombia. Nuestra Vinotinto se enfrentará el próximo 3 de Junio a la Selección de Bolivia que curiosamente está dirigida por el Venezolano César Farías dicho encuentro tendrá lugar en el Estadio de La Paz, capital de Bolivia luego de este enfrentamiento las Selección Venezolana tendrá un encuentro contra la Selección Peruana.

En su último partido disputado la Vinotinto pudo doblegar a la Selección de Chile, logrando sumar 3 esenciales puntos posicionándose en el 8vo lugar superando a sus próximos rivales Bolivia y Perú quienes solo cuentan con 1 punto.

In its last match, the Vinotinto was able to defeat the Chilean National Team, achieving 3 essential points, placing itself in 8th place, surpassing its next rivals Bolivia and Peru who only have 1 point.

Esperemos que esta convocatoria un poco fuera de lo que hacen la mayoría de los técnicos en convocar en su mayoría a jugadores de clubes nacionales de resultados positivos para nuestra selección, he olvidado en un principio mencionar que sólo 4 jugadores de los convocados pertenecen al equipo del Táchira.

Hopefully this call a little out of what most coaches do in summoning mostly players from national clubs of positive results for our selection, I forgot at first to mention that only 4 players of those called belong to the Táchira team.
