I love the wet and windy days in sport.

This was not a weekend for pretty sports.

I wantched three matches and the highlights on what was a storm of a weekend. Wind howling, rain pelting, players sliping and sliding.

This is what sport is really about. This is what it looks like when we play the games ourselves. None of that slick and pretty passing to pinpoint perfection.

This was a day for hit and hope. For slips and spills.

Sports at their finest. When a lot of the game comes down to sheer will to win and get dirty for the ball.

It's just as entertaining as the pretty stuff if not more entertaining as logic goes out the window.

The first one that i saw on Friday was rugby with Munster V Edinburgh.

Rugby is a hard and dirty game at the best of times but wet pitches and slippy conditions make it even more so.

This was only the start of the stormy weekend so they missed the worst of things but it was still tough going throughout the game.

both sides would be used to wet and windy weather so there was no advantage to be had but it made for a real dogfight. These can often be more entertaining than pretty rugby as it comes down to who can not make th emistakes.

Saturday was even worse.

This time i was tuning into an Irish game of Mayo V Dublin. A big rivalry over here even if we are sitll in the early part of the year.

Dublin have been the best team in the country for the best part of a decade and kept their boot firmly on Mayo necks while the did it.
The tide has changes in the past twelve months due to a lot of retirements and a change of management which all teams are taking advantage of now.

From only losing a handful of game sin the past ten years they have now lost thier last four competitive games in a row which allowed Mayo to fight for a victory here for the first time since 2013. A long gap for a top three team.

The night was cold, wet and stomry. That was just the players attitude. The weather was much worse but led to a very entertaining game.

The best of the lot.

Man United V Leeds. A classic rivalry.

This game is entertaining at all times these two old rivals meet but throw in a first league visit to Elland road in years while a storm flare doverhead and the setting was perfect.

The game was messy, fiesty, flukey, entertaining and terrible.

The ball was impossible to control and players were flyting in from all sides. United went 2-0 up in the first half and looked to be cruising before a crazy goal at the start of the second half followed by another seconds later even the sides up.

Then with challenges flying in from all sides Fred smashed in a rocked of a shot to turn the tide and One for Elanga to tidy up in Uniteds favour.

Those are the matches that I like to see. Maximum effort rather than pretty skills.

The people doing V2K want me to believe it is this lady @battleaxe Investigate what she has been up to for 5 years. Its the next step to stopping this. Make her prove where she has been for 5 years or where she is now. She is involved deeply with @fyrstikken and his group. I cant say she is the one directly doing the v2k. Make her prove it. They have tried to kill me and are still trying to kill me. I bet nobody does anything at all. Make @battleaxe prove it. I bet she wont. They want me to believe the v2k in me is being broadcasted from her location. @battleaxe what is your location? https://ecency.com/fyrstikken/@fairandbalanced/i-am-the-only-motherfucker-on-the-internet-pointing-to-a-direct-source-for-voice-to-skull-electronic-terrorism

Serious muckfest this weekend alright, that's the kind of weather to separate the men from the boys. United matches are mad these days, you wouldn't know what might happen. Ye got out of jail against Atletico last night I thought.

It's tough being a united fan these days.
Betting on them is ridiculous. They could do anything but never what you expect them to do.
That was a get out of jail. We were dominated for about 70 of those minutes. Should have conceded three goals probably and still got away with a draw at a tough stadium.

Ya, it must be strange after the period of fergie domination to be also rans now, with a Champions league spot in 4th deemed a good season - Arsenal are in the same boat. The celebration from players last night after winning against Wolves was reminiscent of a team who just won the title! OTT but at least there seems to be bond there now and a togetherness. A few shrewd signings could turn us into a decent outfit if we build around the youth of Saka, Smith-Rowe, Ramsdale, White. These guys are all 24 and under and talented - they just need some proven seasoned professionals around them to bring them on - I am hopeful that we will spend this summer and bring in a striker, a midfielder and a centre half.

As for United and that great escape, I think you've paved the way to a quarter final spot now, I'd fancy ye to be gee'ed up for the return leg at Old Trafford and do just enough to beat them by a goal.

The opening photo of the muddy scrum is awesome - they really look like warriors heading in to battle.
