Opening my first packs for "Genesis league Goals."
The first major event in the new hive based sports game.
For those of you that don't know about the game it's a soccer manager simulator in association with the MLSPA form the team that brought us splinterlands.

The creators of Splinterlands and Genesis League Sports have partnered with Major League Soccer Players Association (MLSPA) to create a rapid tactic strategy game that will utilize NFTs, cryptocurrency, and the Hive blockchain. Genesis League Goals uses the Major League Soccers Players Association roster. It puts two players head-to-head in short cycle gameplay sessions.
I haven't kept up to date with most of the developments to date but it sounds like splinterlands with soccer players instead of monsters.
I'm hoping that it will be a bit more than that but it's what i read from the updates.
As per usual I bought into the game early for 110 packs to get a few of the presale incentives.
Now we finally have pack openings, it's time to see my first few packs and cards.
I will open five individually and another 25 in bulk to see what comes out.
Pack openings.
I like the opening sequence and graphics but wasn't a fan of the card reveal itself. Not half as exciting as the splinterlands pack openings and i don't even know if i have good cards. There are coaches, gold cards and regular but it's hard to know what i'm even looking for.
Coaches are always good to collect but some of them don't fit the game compared to the players cars that are fifa like in appearance. Then some of the coaches are very computer generated.
Then the players cards with level on the top left. Playing stats on the bottom and apperantly equipment slots on the back.
There is still a lot left for the team to do but so far i'm underwhelmed by the cards and what the gameplay looks to become. Not what i was hoping for.
I will still stick with what i have and try to move up the ranks when the time comes so hopefully there is a lot more to come form the team.

I never know of this game before. This is really helpful to me, I love sports I will create my own account. This so much for sharing this
I pulled some cybernetic enhancement coach called Ben. It is weird. Some of the cards are fetching a decent amount already.I pulled Cristian Rolden and he has 4 10's so he must be a playa.
As of the moment, the 10s in stat cards are the best ones for players but it's not only the factors. Once skills and other game factors are released, the dynamics will change. Averaged-type of cards (with less than 10's) maybe very influential to your team composition.
Did you open your packs yet buddy?
Yes. I opened around 70 packs already which were purchased when the Hive-Engine price per pack was around $2.30. My 110 packs is still staked which I bought that around October 2022 (presale 1). Most of the GLX earnings I get from pack staking were powered up (HP) and I staked some GLX.

you did not get any gold foil cards, i guess, you didnt use, buy scout passes, what improves the chance to get gold foil cards. i recommend that, looks like worthy to use, especially in the coming weeks, until the extra % of getting gold foil cards are running.
I've been watching the game developments and I would hope it turns into a great football manager style game but I also think it could just be a splinterlands with football instead.
Still watching to see what transpires but good luck to you with the game and thanks for the great write up :-)
Would that not be a great thing? as Splinterlands made many people millionaires overnight with pack values.
I'm bloody hoping it's like Splinterlands . When you add football we may have a monster on our hands and it's going under the radar

The chance of getting gold foil cards (without scout passes) are 5%. But if you purchase Scout passes for your pack openings, you'll get a boost of around 13% than 5%. It was actually 15% but every 2 weeks, the chance gets decreased by 2% until 10% will be the final chance to get a Gold Foil card with the use of Scout passes.
I've opened 70 packs so far and I have 110 packs staked :)
