We're competitive animals

Sports, life, work....Whatever it is we're competing with somebody.

It doesn't matter what you are doing, there is always somebody to compete against. Even if it's just yourself.

The winter is over and sports are getting back up and running. Unfortunately our team doesn't have enough players to enter the league for the spring time but we will be ready to go for the championship in the summer.

I'm determined to come out faster, fitter and stronger than last year and it's been in my head for a while. I did try to get running after Xmas and get exercising more but have been held back with a couple of injuries that have set me back.

I'm almost better now so can't wait to get going properly and raise my level 10x from last year. Regardless of what happen my starting level will be so much higher than last year as i did a lot of work over the summer to lose weight and build fitness.

Now I want to build on that and go further this year. I have plenty of time before the summer to get fitter but like anything in life it takes hard work and consistency.

I'm just trying to shake off a foot injury before going running again but in the meantime i've been doing a few youtube classes to build up a base and have sourced a couple of fitness classes that might work out for cardio and S&C. This is where the hard work goes in behind the scenes.

Hive was no different for me once I got the bug. I've been chasing down the lads above me for years with hard work and enthusiasm which will break me into the top 200 accounts before too long.

It's the chase that makes it fun. Irish people have thrived on being the underdog our whole lives and chase after targets like we've been kicked down our whole lives. It's how we operate best with a chip on our shoulder and a will to prove people wrong.

I don't have my full attention on hive right now with my fitness taking higher priority and not enough time in the day but i won't stop showing up and for those who have been paying attention we've brought a new Hive project to the table this week.

And say we've in one way or the other chose to overcompete because in most cases it ends in strive and envy. We have seen how even sport games have created enemy; the sport wasn't bad but human intentions was.

Congratulations, first of all, on your progress and your current position. These numbers are a visual representation of all your hard work and dedication here at Hive.

Regarding the topic of competition, it has always been inevitable for human beings to compete. Even unconsciously, one tends to compare oneself to others and measure progress or results. As for Hive, I started less than two years ago and, while I feel I haven't done too badly personally, I also think I could have done more. And yes, I admit that this is partly because I see other accounts on Hive that are doing much better than me.

However, instead of thinking badly of others or doubting those results, I take them as an example that I can do more, as long as I set my mind to it. Let's say that competing, whether with others or with yourself, is good because - on the one hand - you can see the possibilities you can achieve if you put in more effort. It also motivates you to keep going and not give up due to lack of motivation or whatever.

I want to see it that way, in a much healthier way than many others think when talking about competition.

Good post.
