Alexander Isak Keen On Move To Liverpool
Liverpool is having a blast in the transfer window, and one would think that by landing a deal for Hugo Ekitike, they will be done for the summer, but no, they are not, as things are heating up again with the Reds and their dream signing, Alexander Isak. It has been reported that Isak has informed Newcastle United about his desire to start a new chapter in his career outside the club and is keen on joining Liverpool this summer.
Isak stayed back in England to nurse a minor injury, and in no way does his absence from the preseason tour have anything to do with him leaving the club, which was reported by Newcastle United. It's now clear in the open that Isak wants Liverpool, and now Newcastle is going to have to sell the Swedish striker, which they had no intentions of letting go at the start of the summer.
Newcastle just shot themselves in the foot because they would have gotten Hugo Ekitike if they had listened to Liverpool's offer. Now they were unable to get Ekitike and are on the verge of selling Isak to the same club that bought Ekitike this summer. Before Liverpool went for Hugo Ekitike they submitted a bid of 120 million euros to Newcastle for Isak and expressed their desire to go for Hugo Ekitike if Newcastle was still unwilling to listen to their bid for Isak.
The Megpies withdrew from the race after their initial 80 million bid was rejected by Frankfurt. They should have entered into club-to-club talks with Liverpool and increased the amount they valued Isak, but they were stubborn. Newcastle United are now working on getting Benjamin Sesko, who is valued at around 70-90 million euros by Leipzig, as a potential replacement for Alexander Isak. There is nothing advanced yet but Newcastle are keen on securing Sesko as soon as possible.
It is crazy to think Liverpool will end up getting Isak this summer alongside the new signed players. This has to be one of the best summer window experiences by Liverpool fans, and with the quality in the squad, they will be a tough team to handle next season. There are rumours that Newcastle United will be asking for 172 million euros for Isak, which I think is quite a lot and I doubt Liverpool will pay that amount. The highest the Reds will pay will be 130 million euros, but let's see what happens in the coming days. So guys that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping and stay tuned for more updates.
