#FPL GAMEWEEK 4/5

Last week was one of the best weeks so far in my Fantasy Premier League journey for the 2022/2023 season. The funny thing is that I had forgotten to review my team for week 4. Usually, I make changes by the end of a game week and a day before the following week. Thankfully, I did not shuffle my team, which is something we all need to learn at some point.

Making too many changes to your FPL team results in a lot of costly mistakes. First, you start over-analyzing situations and eventually get overwhelmed by the decisions you need to make. For instance, if I had taken one more look at my team before the game week began (like I just did), I probably would have made some changes--like bringing in Sallah who did woefully last week.

Currently, I am confident in the squad I have. The only major decision I will be making in the coming weeks would be to choose my captain and occasionally switch my formation.

For gameweek 4 I managed to bag about 82 points, which shot me up to the 6th position in the hive FPL league. Globally, I am not doing badly as well, ranking amongst the top 1 million teams. I hope to break into the top 500,000 this coming week.

As I said early, I am not making that many changes this week. I did bring in Rodrigo from leads for Jorginho. I switched to the 3-5-2 formation– which is my preferred formation. Although I am weary about the attacking performances of most EPL teams due to the back-to-back games, there is little I can do, since one of my key defenders, Zenchenko, is injured and I am unwilling to sell him (there aren't that many better options).

Another week without Sallah.

I said earlier this season that Sallah might not pull in a lot of goals this week, and it seems my prediction has been accurate thus far. De Bruyne seems to be the preferred expensive purchase in that midfield role. Halland as expected is bagging those goals.

What I do love about this season is that there are many relatively cheap attacking options delivering goals and assists. From the likes of Diaz and Martinelli. I look at my squad and I am confident in their long-term performance.

My major task now as an FPL manager is to get a decent bench--not at the expense of my main team. I am looking for talent that will increase in value, providing good resale value in the long run when I want to go for the big guns like Son, Keane, and maybe Sallah when they eventually pick form. The current value of my team stands at 100.3m. Not bad for the first few games of the EPL.

So that's all from me guys. How are things looking on your end? Share with me in the comment section. Cheers!

A similar score to me, and also saved by Haaland as captain.

That's nice. I think the early stages of the fpl are the defining stages. The more points you bag the better your chances of ranking higher in the long run and it all boils down to captaining the right player

Nice team, you're doing amazing this season. You're right about too much changes ruining a team. Last week I swapped fornals and brought in Rodrigo, only for fornals to score and Rodrigo blank.

Haaland, Diaz and Henderson with the magic. You got impressive points in week 4.
