Liverpool Still Optimistic About Signing Florian Wirtz

The summer transfer window is already in motion as different clubs are already in the market chasing the players they want to have for the upcoming season which will kick off in two months. I reported early about Liverpool’s interest in signing Florian Wirtz this summer as they have made it their priority since the completion of the signing of Jeremie Frimpong, who has not put pen to paper with the club, making him a Liverpool player. The Reds have been in talks now for approximately two weeks to get the deal done, but according to recent reports, Bayern Leverkusen has rejected Liverpool’s first initial offer for Florian Wirtz.

It was reported that Bayern Leverkusen rejected 130 million euros for Florian Wirtz which has made the deal reach this long. Liverpool, however, is not backing down from signing the German midfielder as another new round of talks has begun, and according to some reports, Liverpool is now going to increase their offer to 150 million euros to convince Bayern Leverkusen to take the deal. It is quite surprising that Bayern Leverkusen rejected the first offer from Liverpool, and it makes me wonder how much they are banking on making on Florian Wirtz this summer.

Bayern Leverkusen has not set up a price for Florian Wirtz so no one knows the actual value they set on Florian Wirtz. Honestly, 150 million euros is a lot of money, and I won't blame Leverkusen for not taking that amount when clubs like Chelsea were spending 100 million euros on players as some fit the hype, while some still can't fathom what they are still doing at Chelsea. There are other clubs interested in Florian Wirtz, but the player has already told Bayern Leverkusen that he only wants Liverpool which is why we are hearing only Liverpool in the conversation to sign the German player this summer.

Bayern Munich were in the picture, but for some personal reasons, Florian Wirtz doesn't want to join the Bundesliga giant. I am genuinely curious to see how much Bayern Leverkusen will be willing to settle for Florian Wirtz this summer because I am sure the asking price won't just be the only thing on that deal as there will be adds-on as well, depending on what Bayern Leverkusen decides this summer. The new round of talks has just begun, and hopefully, Liverpool can close the deal and get their priorities elsewhere, that is, if they will be signing more players in the summer window.

It is interesting to see that Arne Slot is taking no time to build the idle squad he wants going into next season with Liverpool, and I have to give the board credit for pushing to get the players Arne Slot wants because some clubs don't tend to give managers power when it comes to signing a player. There should be more updates on the club-to-club negation on sales of Florian Wirtz, which I will share here until the deal is sealed. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
