Locked And Ready For Matchday Eight Of The UCL

It's Champions League week again, and after three long months, the league face of the competition will be officially over tomorrow night. This Wednesday in the Champions League we will see many incredible matches especially from the 6th to the 15th position as each team that is in that spot has a chance to qualify for the round of sixteen automatically without going through the playoffs route which just increases the number of games to be played by a team in the Champions League.

Liverpool, on the other hand, is one leg away from qualifying for the round of sixteen and another leg out of the top eight position. The Reds will be hosting Qarabag FK at Anfield tomorrow night as they push to secure their spot in the next phase of the competition. Honestly, I am a little troubled going into this match tomorrow, as Liverpool's performance this season is not that good, and we have seen how they have struggled in all competitions this season and I won't be underestimating Qarabag as well tomorrow night.

Qarabag are currently on the points in the UCl table, which is five points away from Liverpool, and they can guarantee their place in the playoffs if they take all three points away from Anfield tomorrow night, so I am sure they are coming with a strong mentality to upset Liverpool's run in the Champions League. Liverpool's defence is not that good, which I have mentioned a couple of times, and now going into tomorrow's match, Liverpool will be without Ibrahim Konate and Gomez. Ibrahim Konate lost his father recently, so this is the reason he won't be available, and I hope he heals during this time.

It's still surprising that Gomez is still in Liverpool this long. The Englishman picked up an injury in the last game, which will see him out for some weeks, and now the big question is who will pair with Van Dijk at the back line tomorrow. The likely guess at the top of my mind will be Szoboszlai, who has done well in that role early this season, but tomorrow we're going to answer once the starting lineup is announced. This is a crucial match which is obvious to everyone at this point so it will be down bad if Arne Slot and the team bottle their opportunity to qualify directly in the next phase of the competition.

Tomorrow will be a crazy rollercoaster and it won't be possible to watch all the matches as they are going to be played at the same time. Apart from the Liverpool match tomorrow night, another match that has caught my attention is PSG vs Newcastle United, as both teams are level on points and occupy the 6th and 7th positions on the table. If any one of them wins, then one of the teams secures their place in the round of sixteen, but if they play a draw, then both teams end up finishing out of the top eight, so it will be interesting to see how that match turns out after the 90 minutes. So that will be all for now and have a good day.

The English Premier teams in the champions League are not doing bad, looking at the table log.Liverpool form in the league is not that encouraging, but they should be able to see qarabag off.
