Road To Munich
It's Champions League week again, and this time, the last leg of the semifinals will be played this week as two teams will be heading to the final in Munich. Last week, we saw a crazy match between the four teams in the competition as all four teams still had a chance to qualify as the match was still open. Tomorrow evening Inter Milan will go head-to-head with FC Barcelona at their home stadium. Last week, both teams played a 3-3 draw, which was the highlight of last week's Champions League match.
The two teams showed they had what it takes to make it to the final of the competition this year with the way they played last week. FC Barcelona impressed me with their performance against Inter Milan because I was expecting a team that finished 120 minutes against Real Madrid in a high-intensity match to still go hard against Inter Milan in three days. Hansi Flick has done an incredible job with Barcelona because beating their arch-rivals three times this season and out of it two was a final speaks volumes of how good Barcelona is this season.
Inter Milan, on the other hand, has not been that solid in their three recent matches before facing Barcelona, but I have to hand it to them for putting off that six-goal thriller with FC Barcelona last week. The big question now is who will head to the Champions League final between Barcelona and Inter Milan. There have been debates about this match over the past week now and I have seen some threads about how the San Sario( Inter Milan home stadium) atmosphere will be tense for FC Barcelona players, but they forgetting one thing this season that it doesn't matter who plays home and away because Barcelona can win anywhere this season.
They did it against Real Madrid this season in Bernabeu. Dortmund also got beaten at their home stadium during the league stage, and the same goes for Benfica. Barcelona are so good that they can beat any opposition home and away this season. FC Barcelona and Inter Milan could be missing key players from their squad for tomorrow's match due to injuries, but nevertheless, both teams have to give it their all tomorrow night and as Hansi has said the team is going to play a final before the main final, so we should be expecting an exciting match.
The Champions League has been amazing this season and although with the new format, most fans didn't like it but personally, it is okay and in more years to come everyone will be more familiar with the format. I will be rooting for Barcelona tomorrow because they deserve to win it with the way they have played this season, even as much as Inter Milan deserves to reach this final as well, but Barcelona are my favourite to win the UCL this season. It will all go down, and by this time tomorrow, we should know who will Be going into the final between the two teams. So, guys, thanks for stopping by, and have a good evening.
Go gunners!! I still believe!!
Arsenal has a good chance to qualify for the final. I watched that match and I could see the Arsenal players not putting more pressure on PSG and if they can do that I am positive they can beat PSG at their home stadium on Wednesday.
Let's hope for it!
Following my last comment on yours, I had to dig a lil. Just about 32 mins ago you put up something and in a tribe that's been on my mind. So yeah you're more regular than myself, only you haven't done football in the past month at least.
Cheers
Hi, well I believed too, but the boss Enrique had other ideas.
Let's keep supporting this team.
Do you write regularly in Hive? I'm wondering why I haven't spotted you before, esp as you support my dear team.
Cheers
Last week was perfect. It started with ARS vs. PSG which was a really good match and ended the UCL week with FCB vs. INT. For someone who has watched both matches last week, I can see why people are so eager to see the away match between the latter teams. As the 3-3 game was probably one of the best matches this season (in particular, the first half of the match).
That is why, I was not surprised when I see a big chunk of the text in here is about that match only.
Barcelona vs Inter Milan last week as you said has to be the best match in the Champions League this season. I am eager to see how it will turn out this evening and hopefully Barcelona makes the finals.
I have seen their group stage match against Benfica. It was a really good match. But, I guess this was more exciting because it is a semi-final match. I don't see any side as favorites, it is a 50/50 match considering how both teams performed last week.
I think new format trumps the old, eventhough I don't like having to play more matches.
It truly seems like a CHAMPIONS league with this format.
