A Beautiful Step By Manchester United.

For a very long time, I haven't seen United fans including myself so happy like we were after yesterday's game; a lot of rival fans try to make us feel less than happy by saying it was just a pre season match and nothing much of a big deal but for we fans, it wasn't just winning the match.....

Personally as a fan, I wasn't expecting United to even win the match from the onset, my pursuit was to at least see how promising Ten Hag's squad is.

It's funny how Klopp took United for a total waste of tactics and started the match with his second team, that would obviously be the excuse many people would have about yesterday's match but it was beyond expectation what United delivered last night.

At least, it's quite obvious now that the mentality of the players had changed to some extent, the nature of yesterday's play was attacking and it was really beautiful.

Yesterday's match shows that Ten Hag has successfully to some extent changed the mentality of the players and now they appear to be more confident and fierce just like we all want it to be.

Like almost everyone is saying that United played well but didn't play Liverpool; well, I feel those sayings are just some flimsy excuses, United isn't at it best yet but yesterday was a blast and we just have to give Ten Hag the applauds he deserves.

For a better Liverpool team, most of their star players came in with 30 more minutes to play against United that was having many youngsters on the pitch and yet Liverpool couldn't but conceded one more goal, I know many would try to say and create an argument about topics like "Is united now better than Liverpool?", "So United would challenge for next season's league title? And many other kinds of arguments but as a fan, I'll say, United is warming up!

No matter how small it is, it's still a trophy and United won it. I'm sure of more coming to the club with time.

I was happy to hear Ten Hag said there were many mistakes in the match that he still needs to tackle on the training ground and to me, that sounds more like, yes! We still need some crucial signings. We haven't been during well in the transfer market no doubt but there's much hope with a Tactical and Technical Ten Hag!

Counts for nothing until the season starts and why most of these games are more about fitness with results meaningless. This is more about growing your fan base and selling jerseys than football. Watched a friendly a few years back between 2 premier teams and the standard was shocking.

It's a start and nothing more. Pre-Season games are always dangerous to judge. Mayber Liverpool was tired or tried something out? But it is nice to see that ten Haag is trying to implement his style to this team. Let's see if he can keep this progress up.

Let's not forget how United started the last pre-season only to let their fans down in the league.

We can't forget that so easily and we can't afford to be sad at all times too.

We'll see what happens when it counts. I find it hard to get excited by preseason results there's just too many variables. Managers testing new tactics, players will try to entertain and pretty much just get through unscathed. Most players are just there because it's obligation so they aren't hungry.

Nevertheless good luck for the new season.

A perfect start from Ten Hag that gives hope to the coach's work and ideas.

Pre-season is merely a testing ground, particularly for a new manager, seeing what he has to work with, which lets face it based on last season wasn't a great deal. Even my lowly Saints managed 2 draws agains the "mighty Reds".

As I write this comment I'm watching some live scores going on, and see that Melbourne Victory are 1-0 up against Utd after 20 minutes (granted it's still early in the game), but touting a win against Liverpool in a friendly as a success doesn't hold much sway when you throw away any perceived progress in the next game.
