Talen Horton-Tucker - Utah Jazz

Josh Richardson -New Orleans Pelicans-

Russell Westbrook -Los Angeles Clippers-

Today I'm going to look at what NBA trades bring to both the teams involved and the careers of the players in question.

The mid-season changes have breathed new life into several teams. At the same time, others are still in the midst of reinventing themselves, trying to adjust the pieces of a system that is still not working.

Let's take a look at the list of 7 players involved in the NBA mid-season trades:

Saddiq Bay - Atlanta Hawnks

This player is coming off a good performance with the Pistons and now has a chance to shine on a better structured team like Atlanta. He is a good small forward who needs to be more consistent offensively to stand out. He fulfils well his mission of defending and converting three-pointers.

Mikal Bridges-Brooklin Nets

What many consider to be one of the NBA's most underrated players has a chance to lift a broken-down Brooklyn Nets that have seen some excellent players parade across the court without ever winning a ring.
It's hard to know if the Phoenix Suns will regret trading him because they now have Kevin Durant and that's no small thing. What we can be sure of is that the Brooklyn Nets are now a re-powered frontcourt. They have a scoring machine in a league where it currently takes 120+ points to win a game.Kevin Durant-

Kyrie Irving-Dallas Mavericks

For some people, the duo with Luka Doncic works and for others, it sucks. Unlike Nikola Jokic-Jamal Murray, or Lamelo Ball-Gordon Hayward, who stayed fluid throughout the game, these two tend to lose sync at times and when that happens the opposing team manages to come back. So it seems at the moment Kyrie seems to be like Batman: he works better when he's alone (without Robin).

Mike Conley-Minnesota Timberwolves

Mike Conley is performing well in Minnesota, with a more active role and more minutes in games. He is a consistent player, capable of putting up good numbers in almost all of his games. He left the Utah Jazz in that controversial trade for Russell Westbrook and a few others.

Talen Horton-Tucker - Utah Jazz

This player was initially signed by the Los Angeles Lakers for three years and 30 million dollars but went into a slump, stagnating, partly because he was part of a roster where he didn't fit in. He came to the Utah Jazz in a trade for Patrick Beverley. He is expected to develop into a good point guard with good ball handling. According to his new manager, Wil Hardy, his two challenges are to create more play situations and lose fewer turnovers.

Josh Richardson -New Orleans Pelicans-

The former San Antonio Spurs player now looks much more comfortable with his new team, where he has more minutes to play, which has helped him reach new personal bests. He is expected to contribute much more on the defensive end, as well as good shooting at the rim.

Russell Westbrook -Los Angeles Clippers-

Westbrook has one great virtue: he leaves no one indifferent. You either love his results or you hate the way he plays. Although everything that has happened is supposed to "take him down a peg" and relegate him to the background, it is inevitable that the media, journalists and fans continue to talk about him wherever he is.

Westbrook's case

It is clear that he now has to change his individualistic style of play. It is noticeable that he is passing the ball a lot more, although that sometimes creates confusing moments when he seems to make a contradiction between what he wants to do (go all out to get into the zone) and what he should do (help his teammates to create play situations). I actually prefer the former, the original, but in the end what counts is what works. Without a player to complement him defensively this seems to be the best version we can see for the rest of his career.
