My Actifit Report Card: November 10 2022

avatar

A gray day on the Rideau. Only the Tamaracks are offering a little colour to the landscape these days. And most of those have already dropped their yellow needles.

Had a nice walk along the River this morning. A nice southern breeze is keeping it milder than usual. It actually warmed up to the teens by the afternoon.

You got me curious so I had to go look up what is a tamarack tree!😀
They are beautiful, they are deciduous, just like their relative the Larch. They drop their needles for the winter time! Many people up here do not realize that a Larch tree has not died ,it just braced for winter!😇😀

Yeah, I wonder how many people cut them down by mistake. They are beautiful trees.

I often wondered the same thing with the large trees down here. Springtime must be a beautiful sight up in Canada!!😀

We still have a bit of color around, but I am sure when the next rains come along, or another wind storm, that will probably take care of that!

I remember the first time I saw a tree like yours; ours is call a Larch, which also drops it's needles. I thought it the strangest tree......who ever heard of a 'pine' tree dropping it's needles for fall? Anyway, they offer a nice contrast in the fall landscape.

Excellent job with your 11540 @actifit steps for the day! Take care and enjoy the upcoming weekend!

Our white pine trees also drop a lot of yellow needles in October … on the interior of the tree…

Yes, as do ours. They are 'bracing' for the coming of winter. You can usually tell how hard the winter might be by the amount of bracing that happens. We might just be in for it this winter, lol! Take care! !LADY
