ENTANGLED IN BEAUTY

Someone spoke about Marco Asensio recently, as I translate his words verbatim to English: "If Marco Asensio was playing in the generation fans would have been worshipping him."

He quickly added:"His left leg is better than most of the players of this generation and even EPL saw a glimpse of it"

Personally I must say I agree that Asensio is an exceptional player and impact player, but Madrid happened to him. It is what I call, "entangled in beauty".

Sincerely for Asensio, what a left leg, what a player! But Madrid has a history of having such fine players stuck in there because the players are ardent fans of the club, they just want to hang around the club; it gives them a thrill like no club else. The Brazilian Rodrygo should watch it, an Asensio story could be his story soon. If not that Odegaard was resolute, he wouuld have been in Real Madrid today, coming in from the bench, or on loan somewhere.

Madrid happened to Asensio and when he finally left, he left for another club that had stars which will give the coach a selection headache, PSG. He started in PSG playing as a false 9, which ofcourse was a new role for him.

In the end PSG decided to implement a heavy mobility, pressing tactic, which was a bit difficult for Asensio. Not that he's a lazy player, by any means but he has his galant ways, he does his craft on the pitch which didn't impress Luis Enrique well enough.

Quite a number of folks kept noising about, Asensio is too fragile to play in the EPL, he should never go to sides like Brighton, Villa and Brentford, who require heavy pressing. He came, he saw, he conquered. Infact he was a regular starter for Aston Villa in the EPL and hardly started in the CL, being on loan from PSG.

Suddenly on the final day, a refereeing error, which I think was intentional, made Villa miss out on a Champions league spot they so richly deserved. This affected the likes of Asensio and Rashford, who were on loan at Villa. Villa ran short of funds to poach them.

One will wonder where he is now. It seems nothing is heard of him today and that's wgy the quote of the person I used to start the blog wrongly speaks of Asensio not being in this generation. Asensio is 29-yrs-old now, so it's not about him not being in this generation please. Madrid happened to him.

There's another player, a striker who Madrid happened to Mariano Diaz. He spoke recently about the teenage star striker, Endrick, in Madrid, who hardly gets to play:

"🗣️ Mariano Diaz: "If Endrick ends up leaving, or any player who barely has minutes, I would just tell him to enjoy. That he values what it means to be a starter."

Diaz having being a victim is lending a piece of advice to the young lad, Endrick.

As for Asensio, these days he's somewhere in Turkey, playing for
Fenerbahçe. Not on loan this time.
And he only just arrived there in September, 2025. I think that's part of why the news went under the radar.

How many goals? 4 GOALS ALREADY and 1 assist. Double digit shots at goal. That's him! That's the Asensio we know, he's that good!

Well, football may never truly enjoy the beauty of Marco Asensio. A guy who can appear to be, "jogava de terno"– I hope it's the Spanish for, playing in suit. He can be that neat, effortless and stately with the ball.
