20th November, 2021,is the day I put up the blog referenced in that heading. I absolutely expressed my distaste about a certain issue there. First up, let's hear our dear guru of a reporter:

Now, we go over to peruse the said blog

The Emotional Aspect

This side may not be seen as crucial, as it's not new for coaches and players even, to take decisions which they feel will better their career,no matter what the fans feel. So in the blog I said–

"However, some Rangers' fans are more logical and calculated in their disappointment with Gerrard– quite simply they note that he abandoned a bubbly project at a crucial time or he left the project prematurely."

On a more Serious Note.

I now want on to touch on technical issues,of the need for Gerrard to be patient with the learning process.
So I said:

"Today he has chosen Aston-Villa, a side that is struggling slightly after Jack Grealish, their previous captain, left this summer for Manchester City in a big money move. Having watched Gerrard's methods with Rangers, I don't see how he can do so much with Villa. This is the "sin", I have to highlight. I must say the previous Villa coach, Dean Smith, didn't fair too badly and it is one reason Norwich City signed him only a week after Villa ditched him.

I am saying Steven Gerrard is taking an unnecessary risk! What's the point? You were not invisible in Scotland, England was taking note and talk was rife of your taking over from Klopp. Yes the competition in Scotland is not as intense as England, but it is a blessing in disguise to help you grow, plus the league has improved dramatically in quality, since you came in.

Another thing is that Celtic employed a new coach in Ange Postecoglou who offers you more of a world class competition. You have not competed against his Celtic side, which will definitely sharpen/improve you,for a full season and you think Villa is the el-dorada."

It is interesting how Rangers and Celtic are now Champions league teams, both their coaches are commanding respectful attention in the EPL. That is why I said in that post how the then new appointee,Ange Postecoglou, would have improved Gerrard making him wiser for an EPL appointment. Mr. Postecoglou was courted by Brighton only few weeks back after the genius of a coach, Potter, left them.

Then I Concluded

"So yes, I conclude that Gerrard has taken a huge risk, Villa can't even necessarily boast of better players than Rangers and we must note that, truth be told, Gerrard underwhelmed in Europe throughout his stay in Rangers. I don't expect him to be able to withstand the Klopps, the Peps, Tuchels and all. It is so easy to tarnish you coaching image, it would be hard to give excuses if Villa doesn't necessarily improve under him. By the way, Villa won't hesitate to wield the sack hammer."

And what do you know? He has been sacked. Infact if not for the January buys he would have been sacked long before now. It's was a terrible choice he made ab initio, a blood-rush kind of thing that was not done circumspectly. It's like he was saying,"Hey Liverpool, can you see me clearly? I'm close now."
Yet like I said, I didn't see his style as better than the coach before him.
He has been dumped unceremoniously and worse still, his managerial good-will has plummeted.

Furthermore

Infact I began to receive reports today of his poor man-management, that he is not in good terms with Mings and some others and see how Countinho's form has dropped. They say "he wanted to be seen" as the boss. That bossy attitude kind of thing.

Same way in Rangers,he was at war with the Nigerian striker, Sadiq Umar, for little or no reason. He was on loan from AS Roma. Reports have it that the boy arrived arrived at the club in his Range Rover and Gerrad immediately hated him for that, Gerrad refused him to park his car for where the team players parked their cars, instead he told him to park somewhere else.

Gerrad also denied him access to a locker like the way others get lockers.
At a time, Sadiq said that Gerrad also demoted him to the junior team because being always on the bench, he asked Gerrad when he will start playing.

Gerrad also told him that whenever he wants to speak to him, he should seek permission first.

Strange things by Gerrard for one of the best players in Rangers then, an Olympic bronze medalist in 2016. The player had to leave on loan to Italy after only a year in Scotland, where he did well and finally was signed on a 5-year contract in Spainish second-tier side Almeria in 2020. His record making/breaking goals got them promoted to the La liga this season and Real Sociedad swooped in and signed him on a 5-year contract also.

I Conclude

May I call out @panosdada.sports , @laruche ,@sportsbuddy, @kraken99 ,@arcange,@walterjay, @ctime, @steemitboard,@wolfgangsport et al,who communicated one way or another in the initial post.

Gerrard indeed needs to go back and pick the pieces. Coaching ain't TV punditry, you must be patient, you must be humble, you must be willing to soak in much knowledge.

I wish him well.

Cheers.
