Something of Madrid's History

It's been a less than impressive season for Real Madrid this term, if I may put it mildly. Their 5–1 aggregate humiliating defeat to Arsenal in the quarterfinals of the Champions league(where they lost both home and away) is the high point of such an underwhelming season. Ofcourse Mr. Carlo Ancelloti will not be allowed to be in charge next term. Never! Infact it is reporter the plan to sack him after the upcoming Copa del Rey final versus sworn rivals, Barcelona.

Let's go back to little funny strory of the Real Madrid we are used to seeing and it is that victory in the 2011 Copa del Rey against them again,
Barcelona. It was time to celebrate a sweet victory for them and they did an open-top bus parad through Cibeles Square in the heart of Madrid, with players, as is usually the case, taking turns lifting the trophy amid the cheers and applause of thousands of fans.

At that moment, Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos found himself in an akward situation during this trophy hoisting exercise, when he accidentally dropped the trophy, which fell all the way to the ground and was crushed under the wheels of this massive bus. It became a comical and bizarre scene that the club’s fans will never forget, even non club fans still remember this.

Madrid’s management quickly swung into action to salvage the situation by quickly producing a replica of the broken trophy to continue the celebration, which ofcourse was led by the embarrassed captain, Sergio Ramos himself.

Cheers
