WHY LEAVE BARCA?

INTRODUCTION

He is Masour Ousmane Dembélé, the 24-year-old French winger. He is such a sensational player, with his blistering pace, dribbles and ability to use both feet better than anyone I know. He absolutely was a genius in the German league with Borussia Dortmund and this attracted a bigger club in Barcelona and they signed him for a record sum, in 2017.

IN BARCELONA

However, the expected high quality performances didn't show forth from him, owing a lot to injury– infact he got an unforced injury on his debut. From then on he was often injured.untitled.gif

Health experts had to wonder and research as to why he is often injured and some said, it has to do with anxiety, that weight of expectation playing for a super club like Barca after they spent up to a club record $175 million bringing him in. They continued that, this kind of anxiety makes the muscles tense, which is a condition that invites injuries on a player. The anxiety theme could be true, because even in his unveiling below you could see he was making uncharacteristic errors—untitled.gif

When he wasn't injured, he was struggling with the Barca system of passing the ball a lot, he loves to be on the ball(or run into to space to receive the ball) and make dribbles on the run. This frustrated Barca fans a lot, drawing disparaging whistles from them.

Better Days

It was only recently– last season– under Ronald Koeman, we began to see Dembele stay out of injury much better. He was still struggling with the Barca system at times, but in some games he showed the old Dembele that is simply unplayable.

untitled.gif

Enter the new manager in Xavi Hernández By the time Xavi came in,Barca were in more or less a confused state, Messi had just left due to Barca’s cash crunch and Dembele was locked in contract negotiations with Barca, which was not yielding fruits. The club ordered Dembele to leave, since he won't agree to their own terms for a contract; he indeed tried to leave in January but it somehow didn't work out. What next?

Coach Xavi insisted that he needs Dembele, no matter the contract situation and that Barca hierarchy should forgive him, just as per allowing him play. But by January Barca preparing for Dembele's exit brought in the pacy winger, Adama Troare from the EPL club, Wolverhampton Wanderers, he himself a Barca youth player before leaving for England.

untitled.gif

Now the competition was tough, Adama often started matches, with Dembele coming in for him in the closing stages. However, since Barca are in multiple competitions Dembele had chances to start too(with Adama coming in for him) and that old spark began to be noticed. He has started the last two matches at least and is now proving difficult to be benched. His runs, his dribbles, his intelligence and the fact that he is a great goal scorer will wow any coach.

Fresh Air

Finally, he has found a Barca coach in Xavi that understands his style and an old friend in the speed star, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang the recently acquired super-star striker, a player he formed a telepathic partnership with when he played alongside him in Dortmund, when Dortmund and Dembele were flying. So everything has come together for him. Aubameyang has told his friend, not to leave. Well the contract situation is still at an impasse,so the club expects Dembele to leave.

THE BIG NEWS

News coming into my news desk is that indeed Dembele has found a suitor. Paris Saint-Germain is the club and reports have it that he has already reached a verbal agreement with them. PSG ofcourse will be all over him because Kylian Mbappe is sure to leave for Madrid and they even want Neymar out.The player is free to leave for free this summer when his contract expires, maybe between his friend Aubameyang and his dear coach Xavi, he could change his mind, afterall it's not too late to do so. One thing is clear, Dembele has completely turned the whistles against him in Camp Nou, into applause.

By the way,it was El Classico today and Dembele started and was at his mesmerising best with two assists and Barca winning emphatically, 4-0!

Only thing around Dembele is he stays up all night playing video games and eating burgers. Barca officials have to drag him to training and they employed chefs to go to his house so he eats better only for Dembele to sack them. He's a disaster apparently but if he comes good he is some player.

Another thing around him is that he is fitter than his early days at Barca because he subscribed to a whole new exercise regime to build muscle strength.

What he needs to do is to continue to take steps like this,eg making amends on the faults you mentioned(if he hasn't started already).

One thing is clear,he is a huge talent of the calibre of Mbappe and that's why PSG wants him. There is a reason Koeman and Xavi absolutely love him.

However,we know the balance of things, behind the scenes(this factor is often underrated) is so important for a player to show his true potential. And it is not just about what a player is doing wrong behind the scenes, but what is the reason behind that wrong.

That's why I hope he comes good, already he has made changes and having an old friend like Auba around is a plus.

Thanks for coming over, it's been a while @blanchy .

Yeah bro,he will cause any team problems if he plays as a Dembele can play. He's such a terrific talent who has been playing well, esp since Xavi’s arrival. The fans love him now.

Thanks for your comment.

I think his inconsistent form must be due to lack of discipline because I know how Barcelona doesn't joke with certain things. He is quick, pacey, tricky and good but Barcelona won't let him go if they don't feel he has some issues. I prefer him to Traore and for them to go for Traore, it says a lot.

Let me quickly rush correct information your way. Barcelona are not letting him go as you say. On the contrary, this club has been consistently very clear that they want him to stay. At no time whatsoever did they want him to leave– whether under the previous President or the current one.

What you may have misconstrued to being their willingness to let him go was the signing of Troare. The signing of Troare was because DEMBELE REFUSED THE NEW CONTRACT OFFER BARCA MADE HIM-he felt he deserved more, especially after he was made promises by the previous President.
Dembele had been refusing this contract for months now until in January Barca seeing that he still held firm unto his position did the sensible thing any club should do– buying a player in Troare. HE HAD NO ISSUES,BARCA WERE NOT LETTING HIM GO.TROARE SIGNING DOESN'T "SAY A LOT" PLEASE.

Also my post informs you about Koeman and Xavi as per Dembele. Xavi is not having brain palsy to always praise Dembele, even before he began coaching Barca. The club has issued a statement that they would go with absolutely whatever Xavi wants on the Dembele matter– and Xavi says,I want my boy to play,he's a super star.

My post has concluded the matter, it is in Dembele's hand, not Barca please.

Thanks a lot for taking time out to converse here.

Cheers man

You can explain better without being "aggressive" as the tone of your reply suggests. All the best. Cheers.

Thanks.
I felt this was the best way to do it. I refrained from calling you a propagandist or liar because, that's what an aggressive person could easily say. I believe we have a responsibility to report truth always. If we create an impression to the outside world that SportsTalk Social gives the best news on sports, it will boost the Hive platform. Yeah Hive may never pay us for doing so, but there's such a thing called "unsolicited obligation".🙂

For me I didn't label you because, people can make sincere mistakes, yet I also noticed my post already gave at least some decent answers to your note, which you ignored.

So I set out to set the records straight. If it sounded aggressive, I'm sorry, it wasn't my intention at all. My satisfaction is that if our materials are viewed by the person's we are talking about or anybody else, they would be grateful we did a good job of telling the whole story.

Thanks man, no hard feelings.

Lmao. That explains why you have little or no engagements at all. All the best.

I've muted you already, so save yourself the stress of another epistle that makes sense only to you and no others. Cheers.

Hehe @gingerup but normally I love the word Epistle, for it firstly reminds me of good books like, Romans,Ephesians, Galatians et al.
I wonder why the "muting". Well, turning my attention to what I understand, thanks for wishing me the best; I wish you same.
As always in my posts...
