Comeback For Spurs.

Tottenham hosted Morecambe in their FA Cup 3rd round clash. Antonio Conte tweaked his lineup as he allowed some players to get some minutes under their belt and to also stake their claim on the starting lineup. Tottenham dodged an upset that could have rocked them but it shouldn't be surprising because the FA Cup matches are filled with magic, so upset is to be expected.

Tottenham went behind but they fought their way through after late goals saw them turn the deficit into a win and Morecambe would be disappointed because they felt they would be able to see the game through.

O'Connor gave Morecambe the lead before Harry Winks, Lucas and Harry Kane completed the comeback to breathe life into the season of Tottenham where the chance of realistically winning a trophy is concerned through the FA Cup.

Morecambe got on the score sheet in the 33rd minute after a brilliant corner kick delivery by McCalmont left O'Connor completely unmarked inside the box and he guided the ball into the back of the net with his feet to give Morecambe a dream start as the stadium went wild.

It was a game with few chances and Morecambe would have fancied their chance of causing an upset against Tottenham until Harry Winks came up with a direct freekick from the side in the 74th minute. I believed he was hoping to deliver the ball into the box but the ball went inside without a touch from anyone. It was a goal deserving of an equalizer if not a winner with the way it left the goalkeeper completely clueless as to what really happened.

Tottenham went one better and got the 2nd goal which signalled their first time taking the lead in this game. Lucas stole the ball from Ryan McLaughlin and bundled him off the ball as he charged towards the goal. He brilliantly rounded off the goalkeeper and slotted the ball into the back of the net in the 85th minute to dent the hope of Morecambe.

The game was sealed in the 88th minute; just 3 minutes after Lucas gave them the lead for the first time and this time around it was Harry Kane who delivered the killer blow to the ambition of Morecambe in this game. Emerson Royal also bundled Morecambe player off the ball and this time around it was Leigh close to the corner flag. Emerson Royal picked out Lo Celso who in turn found Harry Kane inside the ball. Harry's snap shot from little space afforded him managed to find the back of the net to give relief to Antonio Conte and his men.

The fairytale dream was over for Morecambe but they can be proud. Congratulations to Tottenham Hotspur for the comeback win.

Thank you for your time.

Tottenham got lucky. Had they not gone to their bench, and bring on their stars, they definitely would have lost.

Nice work though.
