9 Goals Thriller.

Manchester City hosted Leicester City and it was a game of goals. It was a comfortable first half for City before they relented and Leicester came back into the game. City already sensed danger and had to get back into the frame of things which made them score a further 2 goals to win the game 6-3.

De Bruyne, Mahrez, Gundogan, Laporte and a double from Sterling put Leicester City to the sword with Maddison, Lookman and Iheanacho scoring for the visitors.

As expected, Manchester City got off to a dream in the 5th minute after Fernandinho found Kevin De Bruyne inside the box. He beautifully controlled the ball against a make-shift defence line of Leicester City and he found space to unleash a lovely strike after the defence line afforded him too much space and he found the back of the net to give City the lead.

City extended their lead in the 14th minute after a contentious penalty was given but VAR showed there was a pull and the referee consulted with the side monitor before making his decision after Tielemans dragged down Laporte inside the box. Riyad Mahrez stepped up to take the spot-kick and he converted it with ease to make it 2-0.

Leicester won a freekick at the edge of the box after Mahrez fouled Albrighton. Maddison stepped up to take the free-kick and Ederson did so well to stop it and knocked it against the crossbar. Mahrez cleared the spillover before Ademola Lookman can pounce on the rebound. It was a beautiful stop from Ederson and equally a good free-kick from Maddison but not good enough to beat Ederson in goal.

City got the 3rd goal of the game after another brilliant teamwork. Bernado Silva started the move, found De Bruyne who in turn picked out Cancelo on the side. His low drive ball into the box was knocked into the path of Gundogan by the hand of Schmeichel and he made sure to bury the chance in the 21st minute.

Tielemans gave away the second penalty of the game in the 24th minute after he tripped Raheem Sterling inside the box. Sterling stepped up and beautifully buried the ball into the top right corner to mark scoring in 4 consecutive games, something he has only managed 4 years ago. It has gone from bad to worse for Leicester City who trailed City by 4 goals in just 25 minutes.

In the 35th minute, City's brilliant play came up again after a beautiful long pass from Zinchenko found Bernado Silva inside the box and in an instant (one-touch) he tapped a half volley into the path of Sterling but Sterling's effort was impressively saved by Kasper Schmeichel to force a corner. Leicester broke and almost got rewarded after Ademola Lookman beat Zinchenko with a clever toe-poke. He picked out Maddison just outside the box but Maddison's strike was off the target. If you double the post, it still wouldn't have gone in.

Leicester had their chances but couldn't take it. City had quite a few after too but they couldn't make it count to increase their tally and the game ended 4-0 at halftime.

City lost their clean sheet in the 55th minute after Maddison was found and he beat Laporte and easily left Ruben Dias for dead. Iheanacho picked up the ball and fed Maddison again who has the easiest of finishes to give voices to Leicester City away fans as they got a consolation goal, 4-1.

It went from 1 goal conceded to 2 goals conceded within the space of 4 minutes for City after Maddison was instrumental again in picking out Iheanacho who fed Ademola Lookman with a lovely pass and Lookman wasted no time in burying the chance past Ederson to make it 4-2.

City almost added to their tally, thanks to Amartey who made a goal-line scramble as the ball dropped on the crossbar and not long after, in the 65th minute, Maddison's shot was spilt by Ederson and on to the crossbar. Iheanacho was quick to react as he powered home the ball to make it 4-3. City had to quickly respond to nullify any hope for a comeback in the 69th minute after Laporte powered home a header from the corner kick to make it 5-3.

Manchester City got their 6th goal of the game in the 87th minute after another corner kick caused a problem for Leicester City. Ruben Dias met it but not the cleanest of a header as the ball came off him into the path of Sterling who tapped home with ease to make it 6-3.

City ran out winners as they moved 6 points clear, winning 9 games in a row and scoring a staggering 30 goals in the process.
