Manchester United started the season with a bang and thrashed Leed United 5-1 in a classic attacking football style. Last season, Leeds suffered 6-2 at the hands on Manchester United and it looks like the numbers keep adding up for Marco Bielsa's men as they seem to have come up short again.

With optimism on the high for Manchester United with the attacking talents at their disposal as well as the additions of Jardon Sancho and Varane, the fans can dream of the title this time around after coming up short by being second placed last season. Everyone knows it can't be a smooth sailing with other team adding significantly to their squads too, it is going to be a long season but the fans can dream again with quality players all around.

Manchester United staked their claim and stated their intentions by giving the fans something to look forward to especially after suffering many defeats and losing a lot of points at home last season. Hopefully, they can make their away runs count again while making their home a fortress. The season looks exciting as the fans can dream again.

Klich had the first chance of the game for Leeds as he produced a lovely curling effort that David De Gea was up to as he pushed it out for a corner kick. The first goal of the game came in the 30th minute when McTominay found Pogba whose one time deft touch pass sent Bruno Fernandes on to the box. He brilliantly controlled his effort and unleashed a shot that came off the legs of the goalkeeper into the back of the net. The stadium was buzzing with excitement.

Leeds showed character and who else other than spectacular goal specialist; Ayling after being found just outside the box, he unleashed a thunderous strike that could contend for the goal of the week. De Gea had no answer to it as it was beautifully executed just at the start of the second half. Ayling found the top left corner of the net in the 49th minute to drag his side back into the game after a dominated first half by Manchester United.

Shortly after, precisely three minutes after, another Pogba long pass found Greenwood this time around as he raced to get it and beat his marker for pace. Greenwood wasted no time as he found the back of the net despite the defender breathing on his neck to get Manchester United back into the lead, 2-1. It was a lovely goal from such an angle from the teenage sensation.

Manchester United were not done as Pogba yet again got an hat-trick of assists as he found Bruno yet again right inside the box. Bruno left his marker for dead as he struck his effort on goal after beating the goalkeeper. Ayling got a touch to clear the ball but goal line technology ruled it to have crossed the line and obviously so. United stretched their lead against Leeds. It was two goals in quick succession for Manchester as Greenwood scored in the 52nd minute and Fernandes in the 54th minute.

Bruno got his hat-trick of the game when a lofted pass from the back found him inside the box in the 60th minute. He wasted no time as he volleyed it straight up into the roof of the net. Fred also got in on the act as Pogba yet again provided his 4th assists of the game when his cut back found Fred inside the box and he guided his shot into the back of the net to end the game 5-1.

Pogba was on fire, Bruno Fernandes showed his class yet again, Greenwood led the line so well and the whole team performed at the highest level leaving the fans to continue dreaming as the season just got started. No doubt, Leeds United showed fight despite the hammering and we all know what they are capable of doing too as the season progresses.

What a performance from Manchester United.
