And The Slide Down The Table Continues...

I shared a few days ago that there isn't much optimism for Manchester United after the international break because their obvious problem still lingers on. The coach wouldn't even use hungry players and kept sticking to so many dead weights which cost him another loss against Watford and eventually, his job.

Watford has been getting the results ever since Claudio Ranieri stepped in as the new manager. They have been pushing to push up the table and they have been showing exciting gameplays and now, Manchester United, despite boasting of an embarrassment of riches and talents, were treated to a training session after Watford comprehensively thrashed them by 4 goals to 1.

Ronaldo was also another culprit who should have drawn level when the game was at 2-1 but he was denied by Foster. 3 ex-Manchester United players showed United how to get the job done with Joshua King, Tom Cleverly and Ben Foster displaying world-class performances. It was a wonderful victory for Watford as they are behind Manchester United with just 4 points.

Watford showed Manchester United what is to come in the match early in the game and United were treated to how badly they would play when Fernandes' bad clearance found Cleverly and McTominay brought him down inside the box. The penalty was taken by Sarr but De Gea saved it while the rebound carefully fell to Kiko Fernandes and he blasted it into the roof of the net. VAR spotted encroachment on the part of Watford, so the goal was cancelled and the penalty was retaken and De Gea was there again to save it.

Another sloppy pass from United; Aaron Wan Bissaka gave Dennis a chance inside the box as he carefully picked out Joshua King and his effort was slotted into the back of the net to give Watford a deserved lead in the 28th minute. Watford weren't done and in the 44th minute, Cleverly expertly released Kiko Fernandes who then found Sarr. Sarr made up for his earlier penalty miss as he blasted his shot into the bottom corner of the net from an impossible angle to give Watford a 2-0 lead.

Ole changed the game and brought on Van De Beek at halftime and he responded by reducing the deficit after Sancho picked out Ronaldo inside the box and his headed pass across goal was bundled home by Van De Beek in the 50th minute. It got worse for United and any hope of a comeback was threatened after Maguire without being challenged, nudged the ball too much and tried to recover it but in doing that he gave away a horrible marking which led to the referee to give him the second yellow of the game in the 69th minute to reduce United down to 10 men.

United played better with 10 men but they lacked the extra bite to get a draw in the game and Watford finished them off in the 2nd minute of added time after Emmanuel Bonaventure laid a pass to João Pedro and from another impossible angle, De Gea was well beaten at his near post as Watford raced to a 3-1 lead to all but kill any hope of a comeback. The further compounded Manchester United's woes when the provider turned scorer in the 6th minute of the added time. Watford scored two goals in the space of 4 minutes to further ridicule Manchester United. Emmanuel Bonaventure blasted his shot from the same spot as João Pedro as the ball strolled into the back of the net with ease.

Watford got their first home win under their new coach and more than sealed the fate of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Still the same losing mentality for Manchester United as usual.
