Arsenal Building Momentum.

Leicester City hosted Arsenal in a Premier League tie. Arsenal have been on form for some games in a row now and they hoped to continue in that rich vein of form and they did as they won on the road against Leicester City by 2 goals to nothing. Gabriel and Smith-Rowe did the damage to Brendan Rodgers' side.

It's impressive to say that Arsenal displayed character in this game. Even though they got sloppy at some points due to the 2 goals advantage but they held on and thanks to Ramsdale for denying Leicester City on so many counts to give his side the win. Arsenal's win would be a welcome relief on the part of Mikel Arteta who had his job on the line just a few weeks back and now his side are doing a great job in finishing the game off and getting 3 points.

In the 5th minute, Arsenal got the first goal of the game after Gabriel's perfect run connected so well with the ball from the corner kick and he guided the ball home.

They used to say you are vulnerable after just scoring a goal and Arsenal didn't want to fall into that trap and produced another moment of attack a minute later. Arsenal should have doubled their lead but Aubameyang wasted the chance after he was sent clear on goal. He opted for a go at the goal and his shot lacked power and Schmeichel gathered it.

Arsenal didn't relax after their goal and they were on the front foot, keeping possession as well and in the 11th minute, Saka picked out Partey at the edge of the box and his lovely strike was well saved by the goalkeeper. Leicester City had a freekick at the edge of the box in the 12th minute which Vardy took but nothing came out of it as his effort was blocked by the wall.

Arsenal showed they meant business with brilliant attacking play and should have doubled their lead again in the 15th minute when Evans snuffed out the ball into the box from Lacazette but in the 19th minute, he couldn't keep Smith-Rowe's effort out when the ball fell graciously to him after Thomas got a touch to nudge it off Lacazette and Smith-Rowe wasted no time in finding the back of the net to make it 2-0.

Leicester almost reduced the deficit in the 28th minute after a lovely curling effort at the edge of the box from Iheanacho was tipped for a corner by the goalkeeper. Beautiful effort and an equally beautiful save.

Arsenal retained their 2 goal advantage thanks to Ramsdale and Partey. A brilliant freekick just outside the box was executed by James Maddison but Ramsdale got a touch to the ball that was destined to the top right corner. Evans raced to it and got a touch to knock the ball beyond Ramsdale and Partey managed to clear the ball right on the line much to the frustration of the Leicester City faithful.

Leicester City had another chance in the 55th minute when Tielemans perfectly picked out Thomas as he raced into the box. Despite the legs around him he managed to hit a shot that missed narrowly. It was a brilliant attacking play by Leicester that was deserving of a goal but it wasn't to be. Leicester City were putting Arsenal under a lot of pressure determined to get something out of the game but Arsenal held on resilient.

The pressure didn't ease up also in the 58th minute when Ramsdale had to make another save from Ademola Lookman from a tight angle. Ramsdale came to the rescue yet again after Barnes pounced on the ball on the run but he was also denied by the impressive Ramsdale. Tielemans picked out Vardy inside the box from the right-hand side of the box only for Vardy to head his effort wide in the 67th minute which was a shock.

In the 70th minute, Schmeichel had to deny Aubameyang just with his foot. He was completely left unmarked and got his angle right only for the goalkeeper to stop the ball from crossing the line.

In the 74th minute, Tielemans produced another lovely delivery into the box and Barnes' header inside the box glanced off the target. Ramsdale wouldn't let anything get past him as he denied Barnes yet again in the 79th minute and this time around from a tight angle.

The game ended in favour of Arsenal and they moved to 5th on the table at the time their game ended. What a performance by Arsenal.
