Underrated Living Legend.

Karim Mostafa Benzema is one of the most underrated strikers the world has seen. A lot of attention and effort hasn't been given to him despite the records he keeps breaking. If Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo happened to break any record, a lot of attention would be given to them and their horns would be blown even louder, and rightly so.

Benzema, when he was still plying his trade at Lyon, he was known for his devastating pace, amazing dribbling ability and wonderful eyes for goal and he could come in from any angle just to achieve his aim. I believe he was good with his feet and head then. He joined Real Madrid in 2009 and he was chosen to spearhead the attack in a more traditional role affording the wingers then to supply him with the ball.

Benzema has evolved over the years and he is more of an all round striker now. He would drift wide, stay at the middle, latch on to the ball and still press. He doesn't have the speed anymore but he has adapted so well to the ever-increasing demands of the Madrid faithfuls. We all know how the Madrid fans are so hard to please. They booed even the best which started from Zinedine Zidane to Cristiano Ronaldo. They are always demanding and if he wasn't such a strong personality; mentally and football-wise, he would have been shown the exit doors.

As wonderful as Angel Di Maria was, he was shown the exit door, same with so many high profile players like Ozil and for Benzema to still be at Real Madrid, delivering the goods and still being relevant, he deserves the recognition but he isn't getting it as much.

Karim Benzema brings a lot to the team and with many players on the fringe at Real Madrid, he has the ability to form an excellent partnership with anyone he plays with. He is never selfish, he just wants to play and enjoy his football while seeing his team win. There is no doubt that he is at his best yet again this season delivering the goods and banging in the goals which make it easier for Vinicius Junior to thrive. They have formed such a great bond you would expect from your players upfront as a coach and they keep going stronger.

Vinicius and Benzema have both scored a combined 36 goals this season, even 1 more than the entire Barcelona squad scored at a point. Benzema has scored 22 goals in 25 appearances this season while Vinicius Junior has scored 14 goals in 26 appearances. Benzema's ability to adapt and form connections with whoever he is paired with has made him indispensable at Real Madrid. He is still doing the job at Real Madrid even at such an age where most strikers wouldn't even be a guaranteed starter. He keeps defying the age and sadly, he is not getting as much recognition as he should.

With over 300 goals for Real Madrid, over 150 assists registered to his name in over 12 seasons at Real Madrid, it's not hard to call him a living legend. Most strikers would be happy to have half his numbers in their whole career. He has 369 career goals if you count his 66 goals at Lyon to it minus the 36 he has scored for France, you can't put it past him to notch his 500 goals soon and he is still 34 years of age.

With his wealth of experience and the number of trophies he has won, Benzema isn't getting the attention he deserves and he is an asset to modern-day football because he has adapted and evolved over the seasons and that makes him indispensable and a great asset to any club.

He fought through the alienation he felt from the National team a few years ago and the ever demanding Real Madrid fans and he is still fighting and standing while doing what he knows how to do best. This is a good testament to his mental strength and footballing credentials. I salute this living legend.

Let's all appreciate the living legend by the name Karim Mostafa Benzema.

I agree, Benzema is one of those underrated players in a team of global superstars who does a good job of bringing the best out of those around him. Longevity wise, he's spent nearly 13 seasons at Real Madrid and been a key player for them in every single campaign which when given their resources and number of stars who have come in and out during that time shows how highly the club must rate him!

Absolutely... The way the "show off" stars have come and go, shows how the club rated him to consider him untouchable. He has earned it because he makes those around him better, he has evolved and done so well even for himself too. He is players' player... What a talent he is.

He just seems to be at Madrid at bad times, because all the attention was just been given to Ronaldo.

Absolutely...he seem to be hidden under the other stars but Real Madrid knew how valuable he was then and even now, which is why he outlasted them all.
