The day began like a simmering stove, already hot before the sun had fully stretched. I skipped the long stroll and stuck to the short Luiseninsel loop through the palace gardens, where shadows still stood their ground. Between bursts of brisk interval walking, I paused. I breathed, I meditated, I listened to the leaves whisper above the water. At the heart of the island, beneath Queen Luise’s solemn bust, I nodded a silent hello. I even checked inside the hollow tree, my little ritual of reassurance. But the calm didn’t last. The heat hurried in, heavy and hard. By the time I headed home, the paths pulsed with warmth. What stuck with me, though, wasn’t the heat. It was the tiny visitor clinging to my terrace sail this morning, as if nature had sent a scout ahead to say: summer's just getting started.

Der Tag begann wie ein brodelnder Herd, schon heiß, bevor die Sonne richtig wach war. Ich ließ den langen Spaziergang links liegen und nahm die kurze Luiseninselrunde durch den Schlosspark, wo der Schatten noch standhielt. Zwischen flotten Intervallen hielt ich inne. Ich atmete, meditierte und hörte dem Flüstern der Blätter über dem Wasser zu. Vor Königin Luises Büste nickte ich stumm zur Begrüßung. Im hohlen Baum sah ich wie immer nach dem Rechten. Doch die Ruhe verflog. Die Hitze kam schnell, schwer und scharf. Auf dem Heimweg vibrierte der Weg vor Wärme. Was mir aber im Kopf blieb, war nicht das Wetter, sondern der kleine Besucher auf meinem Terrassensegel heute Morgen, als hätte die Natur einen Boten geschickt, um zu sagen: Der Sommer hat gerade erst begonnen.
