The River Spree is Freezing Over Again - My Actifit Report Card: February 2nd, 2026

An even frostier Monday morning with temperatures around -9 degrees and strong winds, which again made it feel even colder. It's winter break and the city is noticeably quieter. I took a walk around Luiseninsel through the palace gardens and, of course, greeted the decorated bust of the queen again. I brought it back with me for you today. I also enjoyed a few breathing exercises on the icy shore of the island. At the beginning of my morning walk, I noticed, as you can see in the first picture, that the Spree is starting to freeze over again. In the other picture, you can see the frozen carp pond in the palace park, which is easy to recognize by the countless tracks.
Ein noch viel frostiger Montagmorgen um die -9 Grad und viel Wind, was es noch kälter anfühlen lässt. Winterferien und die Stadt ist spürbar ruhiger. Ich habe die Luiseninselrunde durch den Schlosspark gemacht und natürlich auch wieder die geschmückte Büste der Königin gegrüsst. Die hab ich euch heute auch mal wieder mitgebracht. Ein paar Atemübungen am vereisten Ufer der Insel hab ich auch noch genossen. Am Beginn meines Morningwalks konnte ich, wie auf dem ersten 76iureBild zu sehen, feststellen, dass die Spree auch wieder beginnt zuzufrieren. Auf dem anderen Bild sieht man den, wie unschwer an den Unmengen an Spuren zu erkennen ist, durchgefrorenen Karpfenteich im Schlosspark.
