The Irises are Ready to Bloom - My Actifit Report Card: April 30th, 2026

Another sunny morning for a relaxing morning walk with interval walking through the palace gardens and around Luiseninsel. Breathing and meditation exercises, of course, at the usual spot by the old alder tree on the island’s shore. On the way, I saw beaver tracks in the water, but the beaver didn’t show up. Instead, I caught a gray heron taking flight. Afterward, I picked up a few treats for the long weekend with the holiday, and lo and behold, the irises by the Aera building are already on the verge of blooming.
Ein weiterer sonniger Morgen für einen entspannenden Morningwalk mit Intervall-Walking durch den Schlossgarten und die Luiseninselrunde. Atem- und Meditationsübungen natürlich an gewohnter Stelle bei der alten Erle am Ufer auf der Insel. Auf dem Weg sah ich zwar Biberspuren im Wasser, aber er tauchte nicht auf. Stattdessen erwischte ich einen Graureiher beim Starten. Danach noch eben ein paar Leckerlies für das lange Wochenende mit dem Feiertag eingekauft und siehe da, die Schwertlilien am Aera Gebäude sind auch schon kurz vor dem Aufblühen.

Wieder einmal ein wunderschönes Tierbild. Der abfliegende Reiher ist sowas von schön! Wir hatten ein Paar bei uns am See, die hatten ihr nest so 30m vom Steg entfernt. War auch immer was Besonderes. Aber damals hatte ich weder Kamera noch Handy. Mein Opa hatte vermutlich sehr viele Bilder von denen. Der war ein richtiger Naturfotograf. Das Haus war voll davon, richtig gute Bilder. Er hat uns immer seine Hai-Dokumentarfilme angemacht (wir durften nie viel Fernsehen schauen, aber Dokus waren halt lehrreich). Und manchmal auch seine eigenen Filme über die Malediven.

Das war es auf jeden Fall! Ich hatte echt Glück mit meinen Großvatern auf beiden Seiten... Der eine ein Naturfreak, der andere ein unglaublicher Geschäftsmann. Beides hat mich sehr geprägt.
