A wonderful sunny morning for a long-overdue morning bike ride to Plötzensee and a relaxing morning walk with interval walking once I got there, accompanied by a completely different chorus of birdsong. Today, however, it felt almost like summer, with a high of over 20 degrees. At the Schwarzer Graben, which unfortunately had very little water, I enjoyed extensive breathing and meditation exercises, and you can see the water level quite clearly in the photo of the crossing. A lot has happened at Plötzensee. The renaturation work on the shores is now well underway. Preparations for the opening are in full swing at the beach, but unfortunately there’s also bad news: the owner of the “Fischer Pinte” boat rental at the southern tip of the lake has passed away, and the city seems intent on tearing down this venerable institution—a meeting place for young and old that’s over 100 years old—rather than finding a way to keep it running. That would be a real shame. I’ve also brought you some photos of the houseboat harbor next door and a tree glowing beautifully in the morning sun for you to admire.

Ein großartiger sonniger Morgen für eine sehr lange überfällige morgendliche Radtour zum Plötzensee und einen entspannenden Morningwalk mit Intervall-Walking vor Ort und einem völlig anderen Vogelstimmen-Begleitkonzert. Heute war es aber auch fast schon sommerlich bei über 20 Grad Höchsttemperatur. Am Schwarzen Graben, der leider sehr wenig Wasser trug, habe ich ausgiebige Atem- und Meditationsübungen genossen und am Foto vom Übergang erkennt man ganz gut den Wasserstand. Es hat sich einiges getan am Plötzensee. Die Renaturierungsarbeiten der Ufer sind mittlerweile gut fortgeschritten. Am Strandbad laufen die Vorbereitungen für die Eröffnung auf Hochtouren, aber leider gibt es auch schlechte Nachrichten, denn der Pächter des Bootsverleihs „Fischer Pinte“ am Südzipfel des Sees ist verstorben und die Stadt will diese uralte Institution und über 100 Jahre alten Treffpunkt für Jung und Alt wohl eher abreißen, statt es irgendwie weiter betreiben zu lassen. Das wäre wirklich schade. Außerdem habe ich euch noch Fotos vom Hausboothafen nebenan und einem herrlich in der Morgensonne leuchtenden Baum zum Bestaunen mitgebracht.
