El Gran Premio de Francia para muchos ha sido un Gran Premio para olvidar y para otros de alegría, la escudería Ferrari favorita ha tenido una mala actuación, ya que su piloto Charles Leclerc al no entrar en el momento adecuado a los Pits sobrecalentó sus neumáticos traseros y se ha salido en la curva número 11, siendo este el líder de la carrera y abandonando la carrera al impactar contra la barrera de neumáticos.

Max Verstappen, piloto de Red Bull, ha aprovechado la situación para ir alejándose poco a poco del pelotón hasta llegar a casi 12 segundos del piloto británico Lewis Hamilton, que ha realizado una muy buena salida, colocándose en tercera posición, superando al piloto mexicano de Red Bull Sergio Pérez.

Por su parte, Carlos Sainz, piloto de Ferrari, que había salido en la última posición debido al cambio de motor que había realizado en su monoplaza, tuvo una remontada muy efectiva colocándose en el top 10 en las primeras vueltas, tras estar dentro de las primeras posiciones y al escuchar el inesperado abandono de su compañero de equipo, su ingeniero de pista optó por un plan "B" sobre Carlos Sainz, ya que el piloto madrileño venía sufriendo un excesivo desgaste de neumáticos en su Ferrari. El piloto de Ferrari realizó un cambio de neumáticos, colocándose en la 9ª posición e iniciando una gran remontada que poco a poco fue realizando con neumáticos más frescos y óptimos sobre el resto del pelotón que le precedía, colocándose así en quinta posición al final de la carrera.

El equipo Alpine ha tenido una buena actuación en casa, ya que su piloto español y francés, después de salir en 7ª y 10ª posición, han conseguido terminar en 6ª y 8ª posición. El piloto español Fernando Alonso en la salida de este Gran Premio pudo colocarse en la quinta posición muy fácilmente, el piloto español ha demostrado que en la salida del Gran Premio es muy bueno y efectivo, no le costó nada estar en la quinta posición, se mantuvo durante toda la carrera en la quinta posición y en pocos giros fue superado por Carlos Sainz que venía con neumáticos frescos y con un ritmo demoledor haciendo vueltas rápidas. El español consiguió finalmente la sexta posición del Gran Premio de Francia, consiguiendo importantes puntos para el equipo.

El piloto de Mercedes George Russell tuvo una salida decente colocándose en la sexta posición superado por el piloto español Fernando Alonso, luego el piloto fue manteniendo sus neumáticos durante toda la carrera, haciendo una parada muy eficiente, en la que poco a poco fue recortando distancia al piloto mexicano Sergio Pérez que estaba en la posición número 3. Luego el piloto mexicano fue rebasado por George Russell y le dio un pequeño toque llevándolo a la zona de salida de una de las curvas del circuito francés. En ese toque el piloto mexicano volvió a la pista y continuaron su intensa batalla por la tercera posición.

A pocas vueltas del final del Gran Premio de Francia, el piloto de Alfa Romeo, Guanyu Zhou, tuvo un percance en el que se activó un Virtual Safety Car, por lo que la mayoría de los pilotos permanecieron en la pista, Sergio Pérez se vio perjudicado cuando volvió a salir la bandera verde, ya que el piloto George Russell de Mercedes aceleró rápidamente y pasó al mexicano. Sergio Pérez intentó recuperar su posición, pero no tuvo el ritmo necesario para hacerlo, por lo que tuvo que conformarse con la cuarta posición.

Red Bull optó por una buena estrategia, pues envió a su piloto Max Verstappen a realizar un cambio a un compuesto duro que duró hasta el final de la carrera. Charles Leclerc, piloto de Ferrari, no entró a tiempo, sus neumáticos se sobrecalentaron y es muy inesperado su intento de entrar rápidamente en el pit lane para evitar ser adelantado por el piloto holandés, perdió el liderato en la curva número 11 dejando el camino libre al piloto holandés. Ahora la diferencia entre ambos se amplía aún más a favor del piloto de Red Bull. Ferrari tendrá que esforzarse un poco más en el próximo Gran Premio para reducir la diferencia. Charles Leclerc admitió tras llegar al box que fue un error suyo.

Max Verstappen celebró con su equipo esta importante victoria para alejarse un poco más de los puntos en el campeonato y dejando claro a toda la prensa y a todos los medios de comunicación, que durante esta semana van a trabajar en la fábrica para que su coche, el RB18, sea más rápido a una vuelta, como lo es el equipo Ferrari que es muy rápido para calificar. El equipo de las bebidas energéticas necesita esa aceleración y consistencia que tiene el equipo del cavallino rampante.

Gran fiesta para el equipo Mercedes, que consiguió colocar a sus pilotos en la 2ª y 3ª posición, así Lewis Hamilton respondió a toda la prensa que están trabajando para tener un coche más rápido, ya que todas las mejoras introducidas en el coche han sido muy favorables para el mismo. El coche es más maniobrable, más rápido y más conservador de los neumáticos, el piloto inglés Hamilton es muy optimista con todas las actualizaciones realizadas en su coche.

El piloto Esteban Ocon fue penalizado con 5 segundos durante el Gran Premio, ya que dirección de carrera consideró que el piloto francés fue el responsable de la colisión entre Yuki Tsunoda y Pierre Gasly, dejándolo con esa sanción tras la bandera a cuadros.

Los protagonistas de las colisiones fueron Kevin Magnussen y Nicolas Latifi, así como Mick Schumacher y Guanyu Zhou.

La carrera pudo ser mejor, ya que nadie contaba con la salida de Charles Leclerc, el piloto monegasco tendrá que concentrarse Y ser más constante a la hora de estar en los grandes premios, porque el factor error siempre le persigue como una sombra y le aleja de los buenos resultados.
