[ESP-ENG] Mi equipo ideal entre 1990 y 1995 liga de béisbol venezolano // My ideal team from 1990 to 1995 Venezuelan baseball league
Friends of this community I am pleased to share with you again an article, where I want to continue remembering the beauty of Venezuelan baseball and its winter league in the 90's, in one of my recent publications, I wanted to highlight the work of those who in my opinion were the best pitchers between the years 90 and 95, today I will try to put together a lineup, with players that I consider would have been successful to have them in the same team from the beginning of the 90's until 95.

No es fácil ser manager de un equipo en una liga tan competitiva, con un roster repleto de buenos peloteros que con sus actuaciones sobresaliente, te ponen una situación difícil a la hora de decidir quiénes son los indicados para jugar, por eso en este roster escogí los nueve que creí podían estar en el terreno en aquellos años que para mi fueron bonitos en la pelota rentada.
Para la posición número uno de la disciplina que es la del lanzador, yo particularmente pondría en la lomita al zurdo Wilson Álvarez, por su dominio y control en el montículo, tenía una potente recta y una curva que sacaba a los bateadores de balance además me daba garantía de al menos 6 buenas entradas.
It is not easy to be a manager of a team in such a competitive league, with a roster full of good players that with their outstanding performances, put you in a difficult situation when deciding who are the right ones to play, so in this roster I chose the nine that I thought could be in the field in those years that for me were beautiful in baseball rentada.

Pero para las labores de relevo en caso de que Wilson no cubriera las expectativas a mi mente se me vienen buenos relevistas, Antonio Castillo (Toni de los cardenales de Lara) zurdo de gran control podía cubrir tres buenas entradas, Luis Lunar lanzador derecho también me podía garantizar dos inning, Joan López el eterno 00 de los leones del caracas a quien podía utilizar para relevos largos y cortos, Rendí Espina lanzador zurdos para ocasiones especiales, el resto de los lanzadores relevista serian Julio Machado, Richard Garcés, Oscar Henríquez y Ugueth Urbina pura guasaca.

La posición más difícil y compleja de todo el béisbol es la número dos, un receptor debe manejar todos los 9 inning y cada pelota que lancé el pitcher hacia el home play debe pasar por su guante o mascota, pero un catcher debe tener liderazgo y capacidad para manejar a los lanzadores, cualidades defensivas, buen brazo para sacar corredores, y un buen bate aunque muchos manager en esa época no tenían receptores con grandes promedios.
Pero yo en la receptoría colocaría a Eduardo Pérez quien cumplía con por lo menos la mitad de los requisitos, tenía poder ocasional, orientaba a los pitcher, tenía liderazgo y lo podía colocar a batear entre el quinto y noveno turno.
Como suplente tendría a Carlos Hernández receptor de los Leones del Caracas, quien con su experiencia y cualidades parecidas a las de Pérez no le restaba méritos para ser el titular de la posición. Me tocó dejar por fuera a buenos cátcher como Clemente Álvarez y Alex delgado.
The most difficult and complex position in all of baseball is number two, a catcher must handle all 9 inning and every ball that the pitcher throws towards home play must go through his glove or pet, but a catcher must have leadership and the ability to handle pitchers, defensive qualities, a good arm to get runners out, and a good bat although many managers at that time did not have catchers with great averages.
But I would put Eduardo Perez at catcher, who met at least half of the requirements, had occasional power, oriented the pitchers, had leadership and could put him up to bat between the fifth and ninth innings.
As an alternate I would have Carlos Hernandez, catcher of the Leones del Caracas, who with his experience and qualities similar to those of Perez did not detract from his merits to be the starter of the position. I had to leave out good catchers such as Clemente Álvarez and Alex Delgado.

En la primera base estaría colocando un jugador con buena defensa, altura, buen bate con poder para sacar pelotas, Carlos Quintana de las Águilas del Zulia fuese el indicado para jugar a diario, pero debia segun mi apreciacion en cada juego alternarse la almohadilla con Roberto Petagine, buen bate zurdo que puede salir de emergente y lo pudo utilizar como designado, su guante era garantía de seguridad en la inicial.
At first base I would be placing a player with good defense, height, good bat with power to get balls out, Carlos Quintana of the Águilas del Zulia would be the right one to play daily, but according to my appreciation in each game he should alternate the pad with Roberto Petagine, good left-handed bat that can come out of emergent and could be used as designated, his glove was a guarantee of security in the initial.

En la segunda base sin duda alguna colocaba al capitán del equipo, Luis Sojo por su liderazgo dentro del grupo, un bate de buen promedio y una defensa impecable le sobraban méritos para ser el camarero, pero tendría que compartir la posición con nada más y nada menos que con Álvaro Espinoza quien defendía bien, no era un bateador de promedio pero podía jugar en el ss y tercera base.
At second base without a doubt I would place the captain of the team, Luis Sojo for his leadership within the group, a bat with a good average and an impeccable defense, he had more than enough merits to be the waiter, but he would have to share the position with none other than Alvaro Espinoza who defended well, he was not an average hitter but could play at ss and third base.

La esquina caliente, aparte de la receptoría la tercera base es la posición más exigente de todo el beisbol, por eso hay que se ser muy cuidadoso a la hora de elegir a quien poner en la posición 5.
Edgardo Alfonzo era el indicado para jugar a diario, y tendría a Pedro Castellanos para suplirlo en caso de alguna eventual lesión aunque el veterano podía jugar a diario.
En el shortstop Carlos García "El almirante" por su defensa fuese el entonces encargado de las paradas cortas, tendría como suplente a otro buen infield como Cristóbal Colón que junto a Álvaro Espinoza serían dos suplentes de lujo.
The hot corner, apart from catcher, third base is the most demanding position in all of baseball, so you have to be very careful when choosing who to put at the 5 position.
Edgardo Alfonzo was the right one to play every day, and he would have Pedro Castellanos to replace him in case of any possible injury, although the veteran could play every day.
At shortstop, Carlos García "El almirante" would be in charge of the shortstops because of his defense, and he would have another good infielder as a substitute, Cristóbal Colón, who together with Álvaro Espinoza would be two luxury substitutes.

En los jardines hubiese colocado en aquellos tiempos a Robert Pérez en el left fielder, pues podía jugar con toda libertad en cualquiera de los jardines y aprovechar su capacidad de hiteador, como jardinero central hubiese colocado a Roger Cedeño, tenía velocidad, buen brazo y un guante seguro, y en el right fielder a Bob Abreu,como cuarto jardinero en la reserva hubiese tenido a Oscar Azocar.
El designado Luis Raven, sin dudas. Con un equipo así creo que hubiese tenido la dinastía de los 90 y un club invencible si todos estos monstruos de la pelota rindieran en su máximo nivel.
In the outfield I would have placed Robert Perez at left fielder, because he could play freely in any of the outfields and take advantage of his ability as a hitter, as center fielder I would have placed Roger Cedeno, he had speed, good arm and a sure glove, and at right fielder I would have placed Bob Abreu, and as fourth outfielder in the reserves I would have had Oscar Azocar.
The designated Luis Raven, without a doubt. With a team like that I think we would have had the dynasty of the 90's and an invincible club if all these ball monsters performed at their highest level.

La ofensiva, velocidad y poder la clave, pues el orden al bate fuese Roger Cedeño, Edgardo Alfonzo, Robert Pérez, Luis Raven, Bob Abreu, Luis Sojo, Carlos García, Carlos quintana y Eduardo Pérez, me parece que este es el equipo ideal de los primeros 5 años 90 dentro del béisbol y muchos pensaran, que por qué no incluir a Andrés Galarraga, Omar Vizquel, Oswaldo Guillén, pues simple aquí solo tome los que participaron constantemente en nuestra liga, espero y les guste este blog para continuar en una proximas entrega de lo que considero el equipo ideal del béisbol en los años siguientes a 1995.
