Hasta que Giménez en rueda de prensa el día 30 de noviembre del presente año 2021, puso fin a la espera de periodistas y fanáticos que anhelaban saber el nombre del nuevo estratega.

Con la llegada de Pekerman a nuestra selección nacional, se abre un nuevo ciclo de esperanza para todos los que anhelamos estar entre los primeros lugares de Sudamérica y poder estar estar por fin en una máxima cita del balompiés mundial, pero para que esto ocurra debe hacerse una serie de restructuraciones dentro del plantel, es decir ya para este ciclo muchos jugadores habrían cumplido su tiempo en la selección, para darle paso a otros que vienen emergiendo, Pekerman fue enfático en sus declaraciones al decir; "El jugador que está en la Selección tiene que sentir orgullo por vestir esta camiseta. Si desea formar parte de la misma, tiene que estar del lado de la Selección. Cada uno con el tiempo va a ir demostrando y sabremos que decisión tomar. Con estas declaraciones nos da la impresión que se viene a imponer orden y disciplina ya que en los últimos tiempos muchos jugadores emblemáticos han sido señalados por actos de indisciplina lo que ha generado enfrentamiento en el camerino y en las redes sociales.
