Who Will Win The Player Of The Month For December?

The player of the month award is an award giving to player that pull a wonderful performance ahead of other players in the league and the award is being sponsored by EA Sports. Now it is time to decide who will win the award for the month of December after Liverpool skipper Sadio Mane won the award for the month of November. The winner will be decided by football fans, the captain of the 20 clubs participating in the league and some football experts and voters have from now till monday 6, 18:00 GMT to vote for the player of their choice on the EA Sports official website. Without beating about the bush, let me quickly reveal the list of players that was shortlisted for the award, these are players that performed excellently in the month of December and it is good that they have received this recognition for the good performance and the list goes thus; Alexander-Arnold, Buendia, Calvert-Lewin, De Bruyne, Foster, Ings, Traore and Vardy and you will agree with me that these set of players are very wonderful in the month of December and another thing to note about the list is a goal keeper that was included. Now let us make a review of their respective performance to know who truly deserve the award.

Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool)

Liverpool right back Alexander-Arnold in the month of December was very spectacular for Liverpool scoring one goal and providing three assist , he was very instrumental in Liverpool victory against Leicester City that suddenly became a contender for the league with a close follow up to league leader Liverpool. Looking at his performance, Liverpool played a total of 5 games in the Month of December, winning all the 5 games and keeping 3 clean sheet in those games. He also rewarded his managers in the FPL with 24 points, the highest figure accumulated by any player so far this season.

Buendia (Norwich)

Another player up for this award is Norwich player Emiliano Buendia who set a record in the month of December by creating 29 chances to become the first player to do so in a single month and he also had 2 assists to his name. Looking at Norwich in the month of December, they played a total of 7 matches, loosing 4 and drawing 3 of it

Calvert-Lewin (Everton)

The striker who came back to life under new manager Carlo Ancelotti delivered 5 goals in the month of December for Everton and was instrumental in Everton wins against Chelsea and Newcastle United. Everton went on to win 3, lose 2 and draw 2 games before rounding up 2019.

De Bruyne (Manchester City)

Kevin De Bruyne is another strong contender for this award and there is no doubt that he is now the assist master as dar as the league is concern now. Kevin helped Manchester City to 4 wins out of 6 matches played in the month of December with 3 goals and 3 assist with two of the goals coming against Arsenal in a 3-0 win

Foster (Watford)

The list look so perfect with the inclusion of Ben Foster who is the only goal keeper to make the list with the number of saves and clean sheet he provided for his club in the month of December. Foster made a total number of 20 saves to help Watford to two wins in 6 matches with two draws and two defeats

Danny Ings ( Southampton)

Southampton striker Ings has been so spectacular with his goal scoring form and has been bought by lots of FpL managers. He help Southampton to three wins in six matches with one draw. It wasn't a mistake that he was included in the list with 5 goals to his name in the month of December and he is now second in the race for who wins the Golden Boot award.

Adama Traore ( Wolvehampton)

Wolvehampton was able to manage 11 points in December and Traore was one of the major driven force with two goals and one assist to his name. His goal against Manchester City was such a brilliant one and has also gain more attention on FPL.

Vardy (Leicester City)

Jamie Vardy is still the most captained by FPL managers despite missing out in two matches for Leicester City. Just like Southampton striker Ings, Vardy also hit 5 goals in the month of December and his goal against Manchester City took him to 17 goals of the season. He helped the Foxes to 3 wins in 6 matches and he is also another strong contender for the award.
