Such is the power of Erling Haaland that he unwittingly, of course, overshadowed the attacking recital and goal-scoring debut of Julián Álvarez, who scored a brace that could have turned into a hat-trick had the post not denied him his first attempt on goal in the match.
The game at the Eitihad was played at the pace that City wanted from start to finish, it was the plan that Guardiola had drawn up with long and dynamic possessions with the ball always moving in the opposition half and always looking for the goal of Henderson who did what he could to prevent the scoreline from being even bigger.

El encuentro en el Eitihad se jugó al ritmo que quiso el City de cabo a rabo, fue el plan que Guardiola había trazado con posesiones largas y dinámicas con la pelota siempre moviéndose en la mitad del campo del rival y siempre buscando el arco de Henderson que hizo lo que pudo para evitar que la goleada fuera aún más abultada.

Y a los 23 minutos de juego, Haaland lo volvía hacer; el noruego jugó un gran pase para Phil Foden a quien la intervención defensiva le despojó la pelota, pero Erling tiene un imán para la pelota dentro del área y esta quedó a su merced para ser empujada. 2-0 para el deleite de Guardiola.
El recital del noruego terminó por redondearse al 38’ con un triple cabezazo en el área del conjunto visitante, primero Foden hacia el palo contrario donde apareció Stones para recentrar la pelota y que apareciera Haaland con toda su envergadura para rubricar su segundo hat-trick en jornadas consecutivas y con ello su noveno tanto en 5 encuentros de Premier League. ¡Incontenible!

In the 50th minute it was Joao Cancelo who was to add to the tally with an absolute gem of a shot from outside the box. Bernardo Silva released the ball, Cancelo received it with his left foot and with the inside of his right foot caressed the ball to make any attempt at a save by Henderson impossible. 4-0 to a smiling Guardiola.
The final goalscoring quota would have a name and a surname, a debutant. Julián Álvarez was to round off his very good performance by creating options up front with a brace -his first in the Premier League-. In the 65th minute a bouncing ball from Mahrez set up "the Spider" who lethally - living up to his nickname - punished Henderson with a low right-footed shot. And in the 87th minute, the former River Plate man took a rebound after Mahrez's shot to score his double and make it 6-0 for Guardiola's side.

Bernardo Silva le soltó el esférico, recibió con la izquierda y con el interior de su pie derecho acarició el balón para imposibilitar cualquier intento de atajada por parte de Henderson. 4-0 para un sonriente Guardiola.
El cierre de la cuota goleadora tendría nombre y apellido, uno de estreno. Julián Álvarez habría de redondear su muy buena actuación generando opciones en el frente de ataque con un par de goles -sus primeros en la Premier League-. Al minuto 65’ un balón rebotado de Mahrez activó la internada de “la Araña” que letal -haciendo honor a su apodo- castigó con un derechazo bajo a Henderson. Y al 87’, el ex River Plate, tomaría un rebote tras el disparo de Mahrez para firmar con un zurdazo su doblete y el 6-0 definitivo para el conjunto de Guardiola.

I'm with you on the fact that it will be virtually impossible to find a solution against him, defending a player with his arsenal is a hard task to face.
