IGUALDAD EN EL DERBI Y LA LIGA VA TOMANDO RUMBO [ESP/ENG]

El Derbi del Santiago Bernabéu ha sido uno más bien discreto, un choque al que le faltó la intensidad de aquellos grandes juegos entre Merengues y Colchoneros; un partido bajo la ley marcial de Gil Manzano al que las tarjetas le salieron demasiado fácil; el extremeño mostró tres amarillas por bando, tras media hora de partido había sacado 3 tarjetas para tan solo 5 faltas cometidas y echó del terreno de juego a Angel Correa en una expulsión extremadamente rigorista.
Si alguien propuso de medio campo hacia el frente, como era de esperarse, ese fue el Real Madrid pero a los de Ancelotti no les bastó más que para emparejar los cartones; si hubo un gran ganador del choque entre Merengues y Colchoneros ha sido el FC Barcelona. Los Blancos han vuelto a dejarse puntos en el camino y, si los de Xavi ganan en su visita al Almería, los culés podrán amasar una ventaja de 10 puntos que pone LaLiga a una distancia compleja para que el conjunto Merengue pueda soñar con preservar la corona que actualmente ostentan.
The Derby at the Santiago Bernabeu was a rather low-key affair, a match that lacked the intensity of those great games between the Merengues and Colchoneros; a game under Gil Manzano's martial law and one in which the cards came too easily; he showed three yellow cards per side, after half an hour of play he had given three cards for just five fouls committed and sent off Angel Correa in an extremely rigorous dismissal.
If anyone proposed from midfield forward, as was to be expected, it was Real Madrid but Ancelotti's side were only able to level the scores; if there was a big winner in the clash between Merengues and Colchoneros it was FC Barcelona. Los Blancos have again dropped points on the road and, if Xavi's side win away to Almeria, the Culés can amass a 10-point lead that puts LaLiga within touching distance of the Merengues' current crown.

El Atleti se pareció mucho a aquel equipo de tiempos mejores, llevando por bandera el orden y la intensidad para buscar echar el cerrojo defensivo y tratar de hacer daño en la contra o por medio de la táctica fija, las herramientas del “Cholismo” de toda la vida. El punto que han cosechado los de Diego Pablo Simeone ha sido más que meritorio, al tiempo que ha hecho un daño profuso a sus vecinos pues ha golpeado sus aspiraciones de recortar terreno en la lucha por LaLiga. No tuvieron los Blancos el punch noqueador que tuvieron en Anfield y el empate técnico no les ha dejado bien parados para la competición doméstica.
Los de Ancelotti controlaron la pelota en la primera mitad ante un Atleti que no mostraba interés alguno en disputar la posesión, el Real Madrid fue metiendo a los colchoneros contra su arco y las únicas sensaciones de peligro en un primer tiempo absolutamente trabado y rocoso las generó el conjunto local. La acción más destacada fue un violento zurdazo de Marco Asensio que Oblak repelió con absoluta contundencia; el resto fue un querer y no poder encontrar puerta por parte de los Blancos. ¡Sin daños al descanso!
Atleti looked very much like the team of better times, carrying the banner of order and intensity as they sought to break down the defensive wall and try to do damage on the counter or through fixed tactics, the lifelong tools of "Cholismo". The point Diego Pablo Simeone's side picked up was more than creditable, while it also did their neighbours a lot of damage as it hit their hopes of closing the gap in the LaLiga battle. Los Blancos lacked the knockout punch they had at Anfield and the technical draw has not set them up well for domestic competition.
Ancelotti's side controlled the ball in the first half against an Atleti side that showed no interest in contesting possession, Real Madrid gradually pinned the colchoneros back into their goal and the only real threat in a tight, rocky first half was generated by the home side. The most notable action was a violent left-footed shot from Marco Asensio that Oblak repelled with absolute forcefulness; the rest was a want and can't find a goal for Los Blancos. No damage at half-time!
Transcurrió un cuarto de hora y el Madrid no encontraba los caminos para abrir el cerrojo que porponían las huestes del Cholo por lo que Ancelotti lanzó un triple cambio de una sola tacada al minuto 63; Ceballos, Kroos y Asensio abandonaban el terreno de juego para dar entrada a Modric, Camavinga y Tchouameni y tan solo un minuto después del festival de sustituciones Merengues, Angel Correa vería la tarjeta roja por un desplazamiento de su brazo sobr el pecho de Rüdiger que vendió la acción a Gil Manzano como un codazo artero que el extremeño terminó comprando. Simeone se quedaba con 10 en el terreno de juego y no había mejor momento para que el Madrid buscara hacer daño.
Pero el daño llegó del lado colchonero, a eso apostaba Simeone, a una contra aislada o una pelota detenida, fue con los segundo que ocurrió lo improbable; al minuto 78’ Griezmann botó un centro maravilloso a balón parado y el destinatario era Chema Gimenez, un héroe que no estaba en el guion pero que hubo de entrar para suplir la baja de Reinildo que salió con los ligamentos destrozados en una aparatosa lesión, el charrúa conectó un remate inmejorable y puso contra las cuerdas al Real Madrid.
A quarter of an hour elapsed and Madrid could not find a way to break the deadlock set by Cholo's side, so Ancelotti made a triple substitution in one fell swoop in the 63rd minute; Ceballos, Kroos and Asensio left the pitch to bring on Modric, Camavinga and Tchouameni and just a minute after the festival of substitutions, Angel Correa would see the red card for a displacement of his arm on the chest of Rüdiger who sold the action to Gil Manzano as a sharp elbow that the Extremaduran ended up buying. Simeone was down to 10 men and there was no better time for Madrid to look to do some damage.
But the damage came from the colchonero side, that's what Simeone was betting on, an isolated counter or a stopped ball, it was with the latter that the improbable happened; in the 78th minute Griezmann bounced a wonderful cross from a set piece and the recipient was Chema Gimenez, a hero who was not in the script but who had to enter to make up for the absence of Reinildo who went off with torn ligaments in a gnarly injury, the charrúa connected an unbeatable shot and put Real Madrid on the ropes.

El conjunto Blanco en LaLiga no es el de la Champions, el nivel de tensión y adrenalina que manejan los de Ancelotti que pueden morir, resucitar y aniquilar en 90 minutos Europeos, no es el mismo en el concurso liguero ni porque se juegue un Derbi y haya puntos por remontar en la clasificación. Aún y todo, hubo reacción merengue y llegó por medio de Alvaro Rodríguez; Lukita botó un córner y el juvenil del Castilla se elevó imperialmente para decretar el empate con un soberbio remate.
No hubo más por resaltar en un Derbi que se quedó corto de emociones, un juego descafeinado porque Simeone así lo quiso y porque el Madrid no supo cambiarlo. Tras el gol del empate, los de Ancelotti creyeron que 10 minutos bastarían para hacer aquello que no supieron hacer en el resto del juego y no pudo ser porque los colchoneros defendieron un punto importante para sus aspiraciones de mantenerse en la lucha por los puestos de Champions para la próxima campaña y también para complicarle un poco la vida al vecino que tan malos ratos le ha hecho pasar.
The level of tension and adrenaline that Ancelotti's side, who can die, resurrect and annihilate in 90 minutes in Europe, is not the same in the league competition, not even because it is a derby and there are points to be gained in the standings. Even so, there was a Merengue reaction and it came through Alvaro Rodríguez; Lukita took a corner and the Castilla youth player rose imperially to score the equaliser with a superb finish.
There was no more to highlight in a Derby that was short on excitement, a decaffeinated game because Simeone wanted it that way and because Madrid did not know how to change it. After the equaliser, Ancelotti's men thought that 10 minutes would be enough to do what they had failed to do in the rest of the game, but it was not to be as the colchoneros defended an important point for their aspirations to stay in the fight for the Champions League places for next season and also to make life a little more difficult for their neighbours, who have given them such a hard time.
