En Stamford Bridge había de jugarse el primero de los dos partidos consecutivos que enfrentarán al Chelsea y al Manchester City en un periodo de cuatro días. El choque de hoy marcaba el cierre de la jornada 19 de la Premier League; mientras que el domingo próximo, estos mismos dos protagonistas habrán de verse las caras por la tercera ronda de la FA Cup.

Ambos equipos se plantaban sobre la grama de Stamford Bridge con sus particulares urgencias tras haberse dejado puntos en la jornada anterior, el Chelsea ante el Nottingham Forest y los Cityzens ante el Everton en el Etihad. Los de Potter tenían la necesidad de sumar para poder acercarse a los puestos europeos de cara a la siguiente campaña y los de Guardiola no podían desaprovechar la oportunidad de sumar de a tres y volver al acecho del Arsenal que al inicio de la presente jornada se dejó puntos ante el Newcastle en el Emirates Stadium.

Se fajó el City en un partido complicado, para volver a batir a los Blues y así volver a ponerse a cinco puntos de distancia de los sorprendentes Gunners de Arteta en esa carrera parejera en busca del título de la presente campaña en la Premier League que arde al rojo vivo, pues tras la jornada de FA Cup del próximo fin de semana, seguida de la jornada por la Carabao a mitad de la próxima semana, los Cityzens habrán de enfrentar el Derbi de Manchester en Old Trafford para después recibir al Tottenham; mientras que el Arsenal habrá de visitar a los Spurs primero para después recibir al United en un par de semanas de alto voltaje que pueden apretar más la carrera por el título.
El Chelsea no ve la suya ante el Manchester City desde ya hace mucho tiempo, y además, los de Potter están teniendo muy mala fortuna con respecto al tema de las lesiones de Broja, Fofana, Mendy, James, Kanté y Mount se han unido las bajas de Raheem Sterling que tuvo que ser sustituido justo al arranque de las hostilidades y 20 minutos después el estadounidense Christian Pulisic vio forzada su salida del terreno de juego. ¡Mal y de malas para los Blues!

Los Cityzens comenzaron a abrumar a sus rivales conforme la segunda mitad iba avanzando, Kevin De Bruyne empezó a encontrar los espacios para combinar con sus compañeros y el primer gran aviso del City fue un remate de Nathan Aké que se estrelló contra la madera. Hubo un tiempo para cada quien, por fortuna, Manchester City fue quien consiguió el gol. Lamentable las lesiones de la primera mitad, Pulisic viene bien y le sucede esto.
No entendí la formación de guardiola, Walker y Cancelo por derecha, Rodri entre los centrales, menos mal se dio cuenta y cambio rápido para el segundo tiempo.

Concuerdo contigo, el primer tiempo fue para el Chelsea -aunque no sé que tanto crédito de ello sea para Graham Potter-, Guardiola buscó innovar en el cuadro bajo y el experimento no estaba funcionando. Supo corregir y además contó con la suerte de que su segunda tanda de cambios generase el gol.
Lo de las lesiones en el Chelsea es preocupante, una lastima lo de Pulisic que empezaba a despuntar con los Blues de nuevo.

Estuvo para cualquiera pero el city la va a romper de ahora en adelante...es un equipo muy intimidante.
Sí, al final, fue un partido que se pudo decantar para cualquier lado, pero el City terminó encontrando portería, cosa que el Chelsea no supo hacer.
