“I’m really happy with the performance and the win. It wasn’t perfect because for the first 20-25 minutes, we had some difficulties and we generated some frustrations. We allowed some opportunities for our opponent to run without creating much. After that, we picked up the game and understood better what we had to do. We were more efficient, much better in the counter-press and regaining the ball straight away and I think once we scored the goals in crucial moments, the team was full of confidence and played a great game in the second half. It’s obviously really important to bounce back the way we’ve done it. Winning in a convincing way with very strong performances – two away victories and the home victory today.” - Mikel Arteta on the all important win against Everton at the Emirates.

The Gunners have caught up in the Premier League. At the Emirates Stadium, Mikel Arteta's side had to face Everton in the game they had been dragging on - suspended for the memorial following the death of Queen Isabell II - it was a game with its level of complexity both sporting and mental for the London side, as a win would put them 5 points clear of Manchester City, but precisely a defeat to the toffees at Goodison Park was the start of the most marked slump the Gunners have had in the Premier. Arsenal have now avenged that slump, and they did so in spades.

After the aforementioned complex slump, Arteta's side have managed to get back on track and are now in perfect footballing health and look to be on course to win the Premier League after a 19-year league drought. The Gunners have now claimed their third successive Premier League win after the loss to Everton, the draw against Brentford and the subsequent defeat to Manchester City which served as the final wake-up call for Arteta's side to get back on track and get back to winning ways.

Today's game at the Emirates marked a centenary statistic for Arsenal against the Toffee side; the Gunners have won 100 of 204 Premier League meetings with Everton and are the first team to reach the 100th win over the same opponent in Premier League history. In addition, Mikel Arteta has started for the 12th consecutive Premier League game, equalling a run of games with the same starting XI dating back to the 1996-97 season.

Arteta's Arsenal came into the Emirates on the back of the illusions that come from their dazzling, simple, irrepressible football at the feet of a team of players who do not skimp on reinforcements to facilitate the task of the team-mate with or without the ball at their feet. Arteta's Arsenal shines and much of that is thanks to the generosity of players who exude enthusiasm and a hunger to win; they all go with what their manager demands and they deliver in spades.

The Gunners struggled at the start against a stubborn and tidy Everton side, Dyche set up an ultra-defensive 4-5-1 that did not allow Arteta's side to get close to goal, opening the scoring for a team like Sean Dyche's is a complex task; the home side amassed 70% of possession that was proving to be inconsequential as they did not get a shot on target until the 40th minute. Arsenal, though, had fortune on their side and an overwhelming forcefulness about them, as their first shot on Pickford's goal ended in a goal; Zinchenko found Saka slipping the ball through a couple of Toffees defenders and Bukayo settled the ball on an unbeatable turn to fire past the Everton keeper at the near post. 1-0 up for the home side.

Bukayo Saka is a player who exudes maturity, leadership and sacrifice at 21 years of age, a bright present for a future that looks even better; not content with having opened the complex can of the visiting team with his bombshell that represented his tenth goal of the campaign, five minutes later, he stole the ball from Idrissa Gueye to leave it to Gabi Martinelli who with the 2-0 for the home team also signed his tenth goal in this season in the Premier League. The Gunners were able to bring a sweet end to a first half that had been extremely difficult to deal with.

Having gone in at half-time with the game simmering and that tasty last boil of the first half, Arteta's side were left to feast in the second half. The Gunners were masters of the ball against an Everton side who did not change their ultra-defensive game plan even in the face of the pressure of going behind. In the 71st minute, Arsenal again found one of those combinations that are so beautiful to watch in their football, Xhaka set up Leandro Trossard on the left flank, the Belgian's run took him into the box where he unleashed a precise pass for Martin Odegaard to tap in the third goal for his side.

A party broke out at the Emirates, Arsenal were enjoying themselves and, by extension, the fans in the stands; the boos chanted the passing combinations of Arteta's men and it was all exacerbated joy that found its culmination with the 4-0 scoreline. Once again, Oleksandr Zinchenko and his ability to find filtered passes where few can spot them; in the 80th minute, the Ukrainian received from Eddie Nketiah, timed the action and turned Nketiah himself into the recipient, who in turn put on the assist for Martinelli's brace, who is on fire and has eleven goals so far this term.

It was a game of high complexity in their approach to an opponent they were able to break down with their trademark brand of football and then sweep aside with their exultant ball-playing ability. Arsenal are more than ever top of the English Premier League and, although nothing is set in stone yet, title dreams are no longer as far-fetched as they seemed to many at the start of the season - or even a couple of weeks ago. Thirteen league games remain, each of them a final for Arteta's boys.

Saludos bro.
