XFL Week 3 Results

We have a clear leader in the XFL after week 3 leaves only one team still undefeated. That team would be the Houston Roughnecks who walked out of Tampa Bay with a final score in their favor on Saturday to become the first team to reach 3 wins. The other undefeated team going into Sunday was the DC Defenders who ended up getting swamped by the LA Wildcats on Sunday.

While Houston might have picked up the win on Saturday the Vipers didn't go down without a fight. Tampa Bay was giving a response on each Houston score resulting in 5 lead changes over the course of the game. This wasn't to stop the incredible work between PJ Walker and Cam Phillips, who collected 3 passing TDs for Houston. They are now the team to beat going into week four.

The other Saturday game wasn't as close of a game but that's not to take away from it at all. Landry Jones came out and tossed a couple early interceptions that kept the Dragons in the game. That didn't stop him from trying and it's a good thing for Dallas he didn't. He'd end up connecting for 3 TD with his receivers including two to his TE Parham. As good as their offense looked after the 1st quarter it was really about Dallas' defense which seemed to smoother Seattle.

I didn't watch any of the games on Sunday but I've looked over the stat boards. It goes to show that if I'm picking a sports team / player then their stock is about to tank. Last week I talked about how sharp Cardale Jones was looking for DC but Sunday you couldn't tell. Jones would end up tossing 4 picks with a longest pass of just 26 yards before he'd be pulled in favor of the backup QB to close out the game.

I've linked to some highlights for each game courtesy of ESPN below.

That kickoff return was pretty sweet. I like that change to the rules and the reasoning behind it. It was a great play!
