Athleticism is key

Today, football is not the same sport anymore compared to 20 years ago. Bayern Munich has showed that in their Champions League games against PSG and FC Barcelona. Technique, speed and tactics need to be combined with incredible athleticism to play a role these days.

There is nothing wrong with that, but it is an important facet of the game that can not be ignored anymore. Players need to be able to compete with semi bodybuilders like Goretzka in this picture. If you can’t do that, you’re toast!
