Italy won, thanks to this guy!
The mental game
Don’t get me wrong, Italy won Euro 2020 fair and square, and all players have their part in it. But one man in particular has a bigger share than the others. Giorgio Chiellini, the captain of the squadra and a rock hard defender. But he did more than defending. He won the mental game on very striking moments of the tournament.
In the semifinals against Spain, just before the penalties, he managed to get Spanish captain, Jordi Alba, completely out of his element by just joking and goofing around with him. Guess what, Italy won the penalty shootout.

Yesterday, on a moment where England was getting better, he pulled Saka down by hanging on his shirt. Obviously he got a yellow card for that, but more importantly, he changed the momentum of the game with that action. A very clever guy, this Chiellini. He even has a PHD in economics.
Italy won, but Chiellini prevailed!

Yeah. Chiellini tried a lot i wonder what would have happen if he had let Bukayo Saka go with the ball. That showed us what is called experience in football.
Though the way he dragged Saka looks somehow funny but i think that is the idea that is needed that moment. The yellow card is better than giving room for unwanted dangerous attack that may lead to goal .
Yep, it was a key moment in the game, incredible to say, but maybe that was the action of the game, or maybe the tournament.
Nice buddy
