My Actifit Report Card: March 19 2024//Today's observatory activities;what is the advantage of dry season to the poultry Farmers?

I want to use this medium to greet all great Hivers. How has been your day so far, hope you are all doing good? I'm positive minded that it's all well and fine.

After I took some walks around my neighborhood I decided to do some observatory activities in my poultry farm. This observation made me realized that it's been long I packed the litter material in my farm and this is amount to the fact that we are in the dry season. Of course, every season has it own advantages and disadvantages.

How does dry season looks like here in Nigeria?

Dry season in Nigeria is a period that we experience lack of water, no rain, more of sunny day accompany with heat. This period might seems unfriendly to the grown birds because of the heat that's generated bearing in mind that broiler birds have no sweat glands.

Advantages of dry season on poultry farm.

Despite its disadvantages, it has its own advantages too on the directions that:
Messing up and packing the pen litter material becomes minimal. During the dry season, you can rear a batch of birds in six weeks and won't pack their pen more than thrice but it is not the same during the wet or raining season. Raining season will always make the pen and the litter material to be wet then become messy and smelly you have to be packing almost every 2 days depending on the number of Birds you have.

So, the advantage spreads to the extent that cleaning and packing the pen becomes less tedious, the Farmer won't have to do much during the dry season.
