Morning Triple Shock And An Unlucky Afternoon
Hello everyone π how was your day today? I am back once again to report on my actifit activity today yay π
Today I really thought I was late with my morning walks coz when I was close to the wharf I already saw the signs of the sun rising again and it was still around 5AM. I guess the times have shifted? It happened to me yesterday as well. Usually I see signs like these around 5:30AM since the sun usually rises around 6AM. Thanks to me seeing this I rushed to the wharf instead of doing 15 minutes of walk in our tennis court π
Not only the sun but the road also shocked me lol I already knew that they were fixing the road to the wharf but this was way too soon. It's a miracle how they are acting so fast π€£ these kinds of projects would usually last a couple of years but looks like it will be done in a month or so. They already broke donw the road to the entrance and so I had to tread carefully on the sides.
This is a double shock now coz they cleaned up the first part of their excavation and now it's flat which is again another shock. Usually they would just leave the rubble there so that people might injure themselves walking within the rubble π€£
Now make it a triple shock... I am usually the first one walking in the wharf and when I got there this morning there were already a few people who got there first π²
I'm conflicted seeing this many people in such a small area lol. I know I don't own the place and I should share but heck people are walking around in circles in such a tight place there would be times when you really have to dodge someone and it's a little annoying π. I'm happy to see this many people but I'm also sad at the same time lol π€£
See the photobomber there? yeah that's the problem with having too many people in such a tight area. I can't even do a picture in piece without someone coming in into the frame. Do you want to ask how many times I did this shot? 1,000,000 times π
That's all for me in the morning so next is the afternoon schedule...
In the afternoon I had no afternoon ride scheduled today since I am on a trip to Minglanilla Cebu to meet someone...
I was planning to ride my bike there at first but then I decided not to coz there won't be enough time. So I rode a bus instead to make the travel faster.
I've arrived at Gaisano Mall in Minglanilla where I was suppose to meet this guy. Actually I was looking for a DSLR camera these past couple of days when I saw a deal in Facebook Marketplace for a Nikon D5300 for only 8,500 pesos or $170 body only. I was surprised to see how cheap it was considering most people sells this camera for around twice that amount. So I took the opportunity and messaged the guy. We planned to meet up here so I can take a look at the camera. I was skeptical at first because the camera wouldn't take a picture. I tried as I may but it wouldn't but it would take a picture if the owner of the camera takes a picture.
It took us about 30 minutes of trial and error to no avail. It really won't work for me. Still even with that kind of a red flag I was stupid enough to purchase the camera even with that knowledge and said to myself that it's fine. I'll just find a way to deal with this and maybe I could make it work.
I was desperate to get this camera coz I know it takes really good pictures coz one of my "Mamitikay"/"Photographer" friends owns this camera and I love the image quality of his camera. So on the way home I tried to change the settings in the camera and then test it out. I did it a lot and it still wouldn't work... But then something happened. I changed something in the auto focus settings that I was able to take a photo. It was a blurred photo but at least I had made it work. Changed a few settings yet again, exploring the menu system of Nikon and now I think I'm getting a hang of it.
Above is a sample photo from the camera and I love it! It's not the sharpest picture for sure coz I'm still using the 18-55mm nikon kit lens but damn that is such a clear shot even when the multi-cab that I was riding was moving.
Though I'm 100% sure this camera isn't made for sports or moving subjects. Panning might help as I see my friend do panning with this camera all the time and the pictures are great. Auto focus in this camera sucks big time which is quite understandable considering the camera's age π My bridge camera has better autofocus than this camera, it's fast and locks in quite well unlike this camera where the auto focus is as slow as a turtle. But once you get the focus right though, the image quality from this Nikon D5300 destroys the image quality of my Panasonic Lumix FZ80.
I was planning on selling my Lumix FZ80 but maybe not for now since it still has it's uses especially that very long zoom of x60. I'll be doing my shots with this Nikon D5300 starting tomorrow and I'll probably still use my Panasonic Lumix FZ80 but maybe rarely now since I want to practice using a DSLR with the limited zoom rage. I need to zoom with my feet now which is fine to me as long as the image quality is great π If there's an ample amount of light I think both do great but in low light scenarios... The Nikon D5300 destroys my Lumix hands down lol
Anyways that is all for me today guys. Till next time π
