Hello everyone 👋,
Happy hump day 😎🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's been another wonderful and active day: time has really flown and as it draws to a close, am raring to go with my stepping activities for the day and some of the trending stories that caught my eye. As always I am grateful and appreciative of this day💯 . Many thanks for reading and let's get going 💨.
So just like yesterday, I kicked off the day with a few rounds of brisk walking 👣 around the neighbourhood 🌲. It was a cloudy morning but with lots of fresh air 🍃 as I made my way. Actually it has been totally cloudy the entire day. Next I was back indoors, did a little bit of resting then got on with the little daily household chores. My next walking came later in the afternoon when I stopped by the city centre for a few errands. It looked like it would rain so I rushed home then had the usual nap💤. Got up to some cooking, a little bit of you tube and news. Then finally, the slow paced evening walk was what ended my day. Next,lets quickly look at what's trending in the media streets.
Locally, political shenanigans as the election case kicked off at the supreme court. Everyone waiting for the Monday verdict as both parties present their cases today and tomorrow.
Globally, Ukraine trending as the UN's IAEA inspectors arrived at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant to try and see what needs to be done to avert disaster. Let's hope the Russians co-operate as the plant is in their hands. Meanwhile, in Russia the last president of USSR, Mikhael Gorbachev died aged 91😢. Lots of praise from European leaders who called him a peace loving man. However, most in Russia didn't support his decision to let the USSR fall apart like that. They won't even give him a state funeral because the man in charge is desperately trying to create another USSR😹. I remember it was a joyous historic moment when that Berlin wall was brought down💯.If Gorbachev didn't step down and leave power peacefully who knows what wars we might have had.
Across the pond in the US, Department of justice says it has evidence that Trump was keeping highly classified documents at his personal residence, after it was raided a few days back by FBI😱. Lets wait and see what actions will follow.
Finally, somewhere in Spain today was the tomatina festival, over twenty thousand people engaged in a giant street fight with ripe tomatoes, It's like a pillow fight but with tomatoes😹. A waste of tomatoes but they seemed to be having fun and apparently this happens every year except the last two because of the pandemic.
